“Aaron practiced and looked fine, so I’m expecting him to play,” coach Frank Vogel said.
Josh Robbins
As expected, the Magic's injury report lists point guard Elfrid Payton (hamstring strain) as out for tomorrow's game against Brooklyn.

Orlando is 61-46 all-time vs. the Nets (34-18 at home, 2-8 at Brooklyn, 23-20 at New Jersey, 2-0 at
Tokyo, Japan) during regular season play, including 0-1 this season. Orlando was 2-1 last season against
the Nets. The Magic have won six of their last eight meetings with Brooklyn and won 23 of the last 38 matchups overall with the
Nets. The Magic have won 15 of the last 19 matchups in Orlando, but lost eight of their ten trips to Brooklyn
“That game taught us a lot,” Vogel said. “Brooklyn’s for real this year. It’s a completely different team in my mind. They’re a hard-charging team, leading the league in points per game right now . . . We got a firsthand look at how difficult they are to guard the other night, and we’re going to have to put our defensive hard hat on to win this game tomorrow night. It’s not going to be an easy game.”
"It’s a tough style to go against if you’re not (making 3-pointers),’’ Vogel said. ``So we’re encouraging (3-point shooting) as long as they are open ones. If we can sustain our pace and our ball movement from early on, hopefully we’ll make enough (3-point) shots to win.’’

``That’s incredible! Going from the bottom-two to the top-two (in 3 pointers made), that’s unreal,’’ shooting guard Terrence Ross said after Monday’s practice prep. ``But it’s kind a testament to (the offseason work) because everybody here has been trying to get their shot right. It’s paying off.’’
``Our ball movement, passing and decision-making the first three games have been good,’’ Vogel said. ``We’ve been able to reward that passing with some shot-making and hopefully it continues. Obviously, you’re not going to make 17 threes every night, so you just have to make sure that every night you are improving in all areas.’’
``It’s just the will to win and guys are doing whatever it takes to win games,’’ Simmons said of the Magic’s ball movement to find open shooters. ``It’s only three games, so in about 15 more we’ll see where we are in the standings.’’

Aaron Gordon needs 5 points to reach 2,000 career points.
Evan Fournier needs 8 threes to pass Scott Skiles for 10th on Magic's all-time list.
Nikola Vucevic needs 10 blocks for 5th all-time.
THIS DATE IN MAGIC HISTORY – OCTOBER 24...
October 24, 2014 – The Orlando Magic signed center Nikola Vučević to a contract extension.
October 24, 1995 – Shaquille O’Neal broke his thumb in a preseason game against Miami. O’Neal missed the first 22 games of
the season, but Orlando went 17-5, as Anfernee Hardaway was named the league’s Player of the Month.

Never been this excited for a revenge game. Hopefully this hot shooting remains consistent throughout the season for the Magic. This kind of offense by Vogel is fun to watch!

This is a good game for AG to go off. Hopefully his ankle doesn't hold him back.

Well... hopefully we limit their PG. Although to be honest, Agustin and Mack do no inspire confidence.

If we can slow down their perimeter based attack, we can get this win. Unfortunately we'll be relying on Augustine to defend that action. Gordon being back will help us with our help defense thankfully.

I'm going tonight...these are the kind of games they must win handily to separate themselves from the bottom tier. Win a few big ones and lose only a very few that they shouldn't.

Nice to see the Magic near the top in some categories even though it's super early in the season. Usually the team that lost the first of a home and home wins the second and after the big win in Cleveland hopefully they keep that momentum going. Now we know the Nets aren't just going to lay down and take losses.

After beating Cleveland we can't undo allthat good work by losing tonight. We need to get revenge and show we're serious about pushing for the playoffs.

We need this win. No freaking excuses. Go out and win the damn game against a team you should be better then. Stop with the upsets and playing to the other teams level. We need to not play there ugly turnover prone game and play composed. If we can cut back on turnovers and force them into tough contested shots and keep them off the 3point line we should win. I'll be at the game. Go magic.

This is a home game they have to win. If they want to make a serious playoff push they have to win these type of games, specially since they beat us already.

We should win this one but I won't be shocked if we lose. It'd be just another case of classic #PureMagic to come out flat after overcelebrating the Cleveland win.

You want to know why we won't lose? Because Simmons won't allow it to happen. He is the heart of this team and he brings that San Antonio Spurs swag with him. Watch this team is going to be fighting mad tonight and they will win.

Just like Simmons didn't allow that first game against the Nets? I appreciate the enthusiasm though. Haven't seen a lot of that in the past few years.

I wish the players wouldn't pat their backs so quickly about these stats. We've had fast starts in past years (Skiles year) and fallen apart. Or Payton shooting 80% from the FT line through the first few games and reporters are like, "You worked so hard! How does it feel to see that level of success?" and then 3 games later the old woes are back.
Not saying we shouldn't be excited. But we should wait before we start talking about how good we are in certain areas.
Nets will bring a lot of energy and play really hard again. Magic need to up their efforts. I think Aaron being back will help with that, as he's a spark plug for effort.
