Orlando is 16-17 all-time vs. New Orleans (10-6 at home, 5-10 at New Orleans, 1-1 at Oklahoma City) during the regular season, including 1-1 last season. The Magic have won four of the last five and six of the last nine meetings overall. The Magic have won the last four matchups at home, but lost seven of the last nine on the road. D.J. Augustin spent his first three years of high school at Brother Martin before being forced to evacuate due to Hurricane Katrina. Elfrid Payton went to John Ehret High School in Marrero, LA and the University of LouisianaLafayette.

BEST ALL-TIME SCORING PERFORMANCE VS. PELICANS: 48 pts., Vince Carter (@ Orlando, 2-8-10)

Evan Fournier:
“We need to realize we were at 4-1, but it was only five games. We had 77 games left — 76 now. It’s a long-ass season. We need to stay composed after every game. We need to realize that every game is going to be hard. We are not that good. We’re not the kind of team that is going to show up and just play and just win the game.”

Aaron Gordon:
“Teams aren’t going to take us lightly anymore, so we’ve got to come out with urgency for 48 minutes. And if we don’t do that, it’s not going to be good for us”

Josh Robbins: "How do you prepare for two of the most athletic front court players in the league when they're on the same team, Davis and Cousins?
Vogel: "I haven't studied them yet."

Magic coach Frank Vogel said Payton also will miss Monday night’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans in New Orleans. “He’s trying to do a little bit more each day,” Vogel said. “He’s out for these two games, and we’ll see where he’s at after that.”

Great GT

Not feeling too great about this one tho. BTB road game against elite big men and a good PG, the positions where the Bobcats killed us. Hope I'm wrong and we have one of our "on" shooting nights.

Awesome thread.

Magic 7.5 point underdogs tonight.

Hopefully Isaac is able to give it a go tonight. Getting 20 high end defensive minutes against this Pelicans team could be crucial.

Another tough but winnable game. We know there front court will dominate. The thing that will help us is game is they don't have dominate guard play to worry a bunch about. We have routinely struggled against potent offensive guards which they don't really have(unless holiday has a resurgence game). If we can stick with the guards and some how just maintain cousins & Davis a bit we can pull this one out. Go. Magic

Good!

I'd keep him on AD if he ever gets matched up against him. Cousins will eat him alive until he gains weight.

Great thread! Mo Speights should get some minutes tonight, going up against AD and Boogie.

Wouldn't be surprised if Afflalo and Speights start getting minutes in afew weeks, I think the new management want to evaluate the youth first.

He don't need to be sh*tin bricks tonight. Needs to step up his game unlike last night's matchup.

Vuc played well last night, shots just weren't falling. It was bound to happen, given how hot the whole team started the season. Hopefully they recover from it tonight. Defensively Vuc was good last night too. Can't blame him for Augustin getting killed by Kemba all night.

So the point you’re trying to make here is that hitting shots is better than missing them? Hmm... I hadn’t considered that.

He let Dwight have his way with him...

More about defense. As we know, DMC ain’t no joke. Vuc needs to bring his inner monster to the post tonight and dominate.

I think Gordon and Isaac are our best matchups to guard AD and Boogie, Biyombo on either maybe. Vuc isn't know for good defense, I have my doubts with Vuc guarding either player. Khem Birch might be our 3rd best matchup to guard AD or Boogie.
