I'm pretty confident that given the same opportunities and minutes, Iwundu will be a more serviceable NBA player in three years then Mario.

I think he's more servicable NOW. He doesn't have the alluring upside mario had but he gives more on defence and if the bench has guys like simmons/speights/isaac giving some offence iwundu's lack of offence isn't a big deal, it's not like mario was ever a consistent scorer

Not surprised. Did nothing to show he's worth the money that he would command next year.
Is Hezonja the biggest bust in franchise history? He gives Fran Vazquez a run for his money given that Hezonja was a 5th pick who might end up back in Europe next year.

Bye bye white mamba
Fran wasn't a bust, just a guy who didn't dream of nba and preferred quality of life over nba business

Maybe we somehow package him for okafor or some servicable role player and it looks better

Disappointed, but the move is understandable. Still think the effect of Vogel’s offense his first year here is being underrated as having impacted Mario’s play (seeing as how Gordon, Fournier and Vuc also slumped).

Those guys still showed flashes of NBA calibre play though, mario hasn't shown anything. His shot is too inconsistent, he still can't dribble at an NBA level and his footwork is still bad, his defensive effort has always been lacking, he still doesn't move well off the ball. Even in a bad system or with inconsistent minutes you'd expect to see signs of him having some sort of NBA level skill or at least showing effort.

Wow. I can’t see Hezonja lasting much longer on the team. Unless this is a motivator for him to step up and prove his worth?
I wonder who we could trade him for. Bulls would love to take a punt on someone like him. Knicks and Nets, too.
Maybe Sacto?
I do actually feel like a George Hill to Orlando deal could be brewing this season. Once Sac realise they’re out of the playoff picture (which will be soon), they’ll wanna just hand the reigns to Fox.
Mario won’t be enough, but could be part of a bigger package.

Maybe this boosts his confidence to play like a former #5 pick?
Who am I kidding he's probably on suicide watch right now.

Sad day learning our 5th pick won't be making it through his full rookie contract. Does this mean he's going to get DNP'd most of this season now? Trade? Just pretend it's not awkward and let him play his 10 minutes here and there?

I feel bad for Mario. I think he really felt he was going to be a star and could hang in this league.

I don't think he realised how tough the NBA is, I can excuse the lack of dribbling ability and sketchy shooting if he was putting in hustle in other areas but he just never showed like he wanted to work hard to earn minutes.
