Can Vuc, AG, or Fournier make the ASG this year?

If we maintain a winning record we should have atleast 1 all star this year. I think all 3 have a good chance with Fournier being the most likely one.
What do you guys think?

I predicted just before the Miami game that Evan would make it and so far I would say he has been one of the top guards in the league and AG has played at all star level. If this team is .500 or above by mid January one of them or both would make it.

If we are in the playoff picture by the time ASB gets here, I think 1 or maybe 2 guys have to make it. Fournier will get the first pick probably followed by AG.

If we keep winning, all 3 should make it.

How would you rate the East's sf?
1.Bron
???
with Hayward hurt, I'd probably take Evan (right now) over the next group of
Porter, Harris, Middleton
With PG now out west, its open past Bron now.

Was excited to vote for which one I thought would make the all star team this year, but no poll!

There is almost zero percent chance of this happening. It would seem that there should be plenty of slots available given how many players moved west and the injuries that are out there, but our guys still aren't that high in the pecking order barring some injuries.
Kyrie Irving - G
DeMar DeRozan - G
Ben Simmons - G/F
Joel Embiid - C
Kristaps Porzingis - F
John Wall - G
Bradley Beal - G
LeBron James - F
Kemba Walker - G
Giannis Antetokounmpo - G/F
As well as our guys are playing, I think all ten of those guys are clearly ahead of any of ours at present. Things can obviously change. Injuries happen. Perhaps Ben Simmons comes down to earth. Still... you can see how much competition there is. Our guys are all in the crowded group competing for the last three or four spots on the All-Star team.

None of them will get voted in, that's for sure. Not popular enough.
There are 15 players in the East averaging 20 ppg or more right now, and Evan is the only one of our 3 in that company (Aaron and Vooch are a big game or two away though). Points aren't everything, but they go a long way to getting noticed unless you're leading the league in blocks. I'd expect that number to drop to around 10 guys though.
Aaron has the MIP thing going for him, a lot of buzz because he's making a bigger jump than Evan or Vuc, so maybe gets more attention.
Evan has the tougher battle IMO because the guard play is stronger in the East than the Forwards. Also Evan doesn't have any other stats to back him up (Aaron and Vooch at least have rebounding).
Injuries always become a factor as well, not that we're rooting for anyone to get hurt of course.
I'd say if Aaron keeps his numbers above 50/40/75 he makes it. Don't think Evan or Vooch make it.

Could get awkward around here if Victor Oladipo makes the all-star team before any of our guys.

Actually you're right. There is usually a "prove it" year first when it comes to the all star game voting. Once you get snubbed and the media makes a big story out of it then chances get a whole lot better the next year. Assuming winning continues. A playoff birth would be huge.

Wasn't Vooch already snubbed 2 years ago? yeah no one really noticed I guess.

Right now, none of them are allstars in my view. Good players, but not allstars.

I guess it'll come down to coach votes. If we continue winning, coaches will hopefully notice and acknowledge one of our guys. But, same could be said for one of Detroit's players, or Oladipo, etc.
Gordon likely has the best chance since he has already had a bit of allstar weekend attention from the dunk contest. He just needs some more big scoring games to get him up over 20ppg.

I think ag has the highest chance to make it because he is highlight reel material. But if its up to the coaches, probably fournier

I'm not sure how I feel about the new NBA all star game format. Not being the classic " East vs West" is going to take a bit to get used to.

Wall, Irving, Giannis , Lebron and Porzingis are probably starters.
Embiid, Beal, Derozan, Kemba , Simmons backups
Drummond is making strong case for allstar as well, averaging 14ppg, 15 rpg and 3 apg .
Maybe Lue gets fired and Cavs finally decide to give Love ball in post ? He is on good pace to be fired and Love is frustrated as hell.
Schroder shouldn't be punished for playing on bad team, he is only reason why they are not 0-11 . D'angelo, Harris, Oladipo, Evan, Vučević, Whiteside, Dragić , Gordon and few others will all recive votes.
Personally i think that Dragić should be voted as backup guard, guy has been good for years, this is first season where he has legit shot at making it, and comming from MVP of Eurobasket would be huge milestone.
It's hard to get there, Gordon has best shot because allstar game is all "fensy" so having him fly would be good for a game .
But my God that West. Some of Westbrook/Harden/Curry trio won't be starter. Some of Melo/Jimmy Butler/George trio probably won't even make it to an allstar game at all.

A few years ago, Atlanta went on a ball movement, 3 point bombing, feel-good winning story and 4 guys (4!) were all-stars for the first and (I think) only time in their careers. I think we don't (yet?) have the star power but IF the Magic go on a tear (like they started), there is a shot for 1-3 of them. Even if Elf went absolutely nuts, PG position is just too stacked, but the three listed are unlikely, but possible. If AG keeps hitting 3's and the return of EP keeps AG on the daily top 10 plays and in the national media...it's possible. Would be fun...definitely a factor of wins, for the Magic, to even get consideration.

Different format this year. The highest voted player from each conference is a captain and they choose their team from a pool of players. So there can be east and west players on each team.

I thought that starts in 2019 , wow. Oh well, it will only mean more "proven allstars" on down years playing allstar game ( Lowry for example )
