The Pro-Vuc Thread

Post#1 » by Bensational » Tue Dec 12, 2017 9:56 pm

NOTE: This is a strictly Vuc-positive thread. Any posts that questions his good-ness will not be permitted in this thread. Anyone breaking these rules will get a warning the first time, and a suspension for any ongoing violations of the thread.

Here's a thread to discuss all things good about Vuc.

Main good thing I can say is congratulations on his big game against Atlanta, the NBA is the NBA no matter who you are playing. These are the best players in the world

sometimes i watch vooch play and get pissed off like the rest in here and start thinking a trade would be a good idea... but you have to realize vooch is a big value to this team and should be respected... im hoping the team doesnt trade him because i believe they can still make the playoffs with the current roster once everyone gets healthy...

Winning is What Matters Most to Nikola Vucevic

http://www.nba.com/magic/news/winning-what-matters-most-nikola-vucevic

That has played out in the win/loss column this season when Vucevic has been relied upon in the Magic offense. When he scores at least 15 points, Orlando is 9-7, but it is just 2-10 when he fails to reach that 15-point plateau.

Vuch has improved drastically over the past several years and so has his trading value. <snip>
We surely dont want to do another DIPO like mistake with Vuch but I just dont see how management will continue keeping the Payton, Fournier, Gordon and VUch core.
I will love to see how Isaac, Gordon and Vuch combination works before making any drastic change. Maybe we can succeed with those 3. But we really need to upgrade our PG and SG position. <snip>

MOD EDIT: removed the stuff that isn't strictly pro-Vuc.

Interesting stat.

Personally I think this team will be significantly better once Isaac is back - he's the perfect defensive foil to play with Vuc.

He'd look much better with some guards who can defend the pick and roll and stay with their man when they drive.

he is the only one on the team that can properly play switching defense. that's why we are significantly worse in every statistics regarding defense without him on the court.

I like that Vuc has expanded his offensive game out to the 3 point line.

Positives about Vuc:

- He seems like a nice guy.
- He gives very consistent responses in post game interviews.
- He wants to be a starter for this team.

He has been mixing up his game very nicely as of late and has been rebounding much better. He is a very adept passer especially at the top of the key. It is a shame we do not use that part of his skill set more often in our halfcourt sets.

Vucevic is a nice player, he's not our problem and I like the fact that he's expanding his game. Our real and biggest problem lies at the PG spot.

Sorry Payton supporters, but EP is not good or consistent enough to take us to the promised land. This simply isn't working.

Before we breakdown this roster, we need to bring in an aggressive PG who can shoot and share the rock as well, playing hard every single night.

Vuc is a very nice complementary piece imo, no need to bash him or trade him (unless there's a star involved).

1. Man has done everything we asked of him, changing his game on year-to-year basis.
2. Excellent rebounder.
3. Good shooter.
4. Nice post game.
5. Underrated passer.
6. Center with low lateral quickness and weak shot blocking instincts that seems to be our best defender according to statistical indicators. This should not be right, but it is. Once we trade him, we'll be free to start focusing on the real problem.

If he can only play with more passion :/
Overall really good player for a size/position.
But Magic failed to get him better PGs on defense and PFs who can cover up weak side defense for him. Ibaka should have been that guy but failed due rapid decline.

This year Vučević is both Orlando's best offensive and best defensive player. Imagine how much his game would expend if Orlando had competence from the SG slot.
