When will we learn?

Sorry to start a new thread for this, but when will this team learn that we NEED to tank???

We have seen that Vuc is not a star, but we keep playing through him as if he was one. When will we learn?

These past 6 seasons have been torture, but this year has been an all time low. At least in the past we had players like Oladipo, Harris, Hezonja(before he was buried on the bench) & Gordon to be excite about, now all we have is AG.. It pains to see Oladipo and Harris finally getting it, but on different teams!

WHEN WILL THIS TEAM F*$&ing learn???? DO it right finally and TANK!!!!

we don't even need to tank we're that bad, we're what 3-17 the past 20 games now going on a 6 game losing streak...

The Magic was 8-4 and then the injury bug wiped out the team. Right now there is a gaping hole on the wing AND no depth on the bench.

Vučević is not the problem; Simmons and Ross are.

So it's bad to trade Oladipo and Harris, but lets trade Vuc and Evan for expiring contracts?

I never said lets trade Evan.. I didnt even mention Evan. I actually like Evan and think he is a starting caliber 2, but Vuc on the other hand is such liability on defense. Once we see that he is the problem I think the Magic will do better.

VUc is the biggest problem. His defense is what kills us all the time.

We will never actively tank like the sixers. Management won’t do it, players won’t do it, Vogel won’t do it. We are bad enough that we will lose and we can hope for losses.

We've been tanking for years, people just won't accept that we're in this mess with the "it's okay to lose" mentality because of the tanking. Loser mentality. That's what we've gotten from all the tanking.

Statistically Vučević is one of Orlando's best defensive players.

When a team decides to intentionally tank a season, imo, they deserve to stay in an extended misery.

I get all of the reasons for doing so, but it is against everything competitive sports is supposed to be. In addition to stealing from fans that support a team.

And by the way, for the handful of successes over the years from teams that have tanked, far many more teams have stayed at the bottom of the heap.

True, but it just depends on the flavour of tank.

For example, if the team decided to continuously invest in youth until 1 showed signs of being a star, we’d most likely lose games but at least it would be whilst moving towards the right goal.

We’ve seen what Vuc and Evan have to offer, short of another big and unexpected step of growth from them. Move them for youth, and hand the team over to AG, Isaac, Hezonja and Simmons and see what they’ve got. Rinse and repeat until we end up with a prospect who’s a legit star.

Philly did it, got Embiid/Simmons/Fultz.
Minnesota did it and got KAT/Wiggins/(LaVine/Dunn). Phoenix did it and got Bender/Chriss/Jackson/Booker/Ulis.
Lakers did it and got Randle/Nance/Kuzma/Ingram/Clarkson/Ball/(Russell)

They’ve been the primary tanking teams of late. 2 if those teams have quickly become competitive again. The other 2 are stacked with assets and players with potential.

I don't know. All I know is that I've 100% mentally checked out on this NBA season since a few games ago. Might be the earliest that's happened. Losing doesn't usually get to me on this level. There is no anger or negativity anymore, just a growing apathy & boredom towards Magic basketball. This isn't saying I am not a fan anymore, of course I am but what I mean is in 02-03 for example, I could place bets on how many T-Mac scored. There is nothing revving my NBA engine through current Magic basketball. Stale & repetitious.

The 76ers tanked the right way and have a potential dynasty on their hands. I am not saying lets play G league players, but I think its time to move on from Vuc and really put the ball in AG's hand. At least it would be fun to watch AG shoot 20-25 times a game compared to Simmons and Vuc shooting 20 times.

We want to tank. We NEED to tank. So those guys gotta go ASAP. I personally don't want to trade them for expiring contracts unless there is a pick involved. But one way or another those guys gotta go.

I agree but some of the logic around here is flat out stupid. Like so called fans wanting vuc and fournier to fail because they have a personal bias against them. Or pretending advanced metrics mean nothing because its makes said posters completely wrong,

I want all of our players to play well but in losing efforts.. so we can trade all of them for better value.
