Meanwhile
I know it’ll be a slow process for Isaac. Just kinda sucks until we get there.

It sucks because he’s losing development time. But he needs to get healthy of course

When Isaac was drafted he already had health issues flagged. So none of this is really that surprising.
I guess he could use all the ankle-recovery time to hit the gym and gain upper body strength, which is his major need.
..

From the O-Sen:
On Thursday, coach Frank Vogel was asked how much Isaac’s development has been impacted by the injury.
“It’s hampered him a lot,” Vogel answered. “But mentally he’s still being taught the game and still being kept engaged in everything. There’s still development. There’s still growing. There’s still experience happening. It’s just a lot slower than it would be if he was in there.”

Bummer. He needs to be out there so he can develop his offensive game. It feels like we’ve barely seen him play next to AG, which is a pretty important point of evaluation for this team moving forward.

The dumpster fire catches more fuel. What a miserable year.

Just needs to get stronger. Markelle Fultz injury thing is much more strange/concerning to me than Isaac's ankle, but we'll see.
Haven't been impressed with DSJ at all this year, but nice to see him get a good game in a win.

Yeah I think people post DSJ for troll purposes at this point. He has not shown that much for anyone to regret taking Isaac, unless they are just ultra biased. I mean, Elf had triple dubs as a rookie and we all still want to trade him ..lol.
The big question is if we get the new darling in Trae Young and also have Isaac. What would people then complain about?
It really is crazy how much injury we have had this year. I am not sure I remember a season this bad. And I am not sure if Fournier should be out there so soon either.
At this point I just want to see Isaac and AG out there together in some capacity. So this is disappointing.

He should have been under this program since the first time we drafted him and definitely once he injured his ankle the first time against the Nuggets. The injuries have been absolutely ridiculous this season. I still love his upside and will be patient to see it come to fruition. I really hope that WeltHam and Becky are seriously looking at our training staff and improve it in spades. They have been a hindrance for far too long as this point.

Just playing Devils advocate here but you could compare Isaac + Young against say DSJ + one of Bagley, Porter, Ayton or Doncic.
At this point, you’re not going to get me disappointed in either scenario.

I like DSJ a lot and it was nice to see him get a triple dub (my fantasy team enjoyed that production) but he has equally been injured throughout the season and has injury concerns with the knee and hip since high school. I hope both of these guys get fully healthy and the injury concerns are no longer a problem in their respective careers.

He wasn't in a rehab and conditioning program before?

Exactly my point. Our team has some major issues when it comes to the health and training department. I feel we are behind the curve compared to other teams in the league. Well we are behind the curve in a lot of things but you get the idea.

You take DSJ posts a little too personally. Not trolling, I just had all my eggs in the DSJ basket during the draft. Just like Porzingis a couple years prior. Doesn’t make me hate Isaac but playing the “what could have been” game isn’t me being a troll.
Not unlike people wonder what it’s be like if we took Kuzma or Jordan Bell with one of our picks we traded for future bullchit.
Isaac and Smith will probably be compared for the next 10 years on this board

I think the issue here is that people keep bringing up DSJ when his play hasn't really supported the argument for those that wanted him over Isaac. Payton was better in his rookie season and at the same age than has been DSJ thus far. Their shooting metrics in their rookie seasons are similar, though DSJ has much higher usage. Payton bettered DSJ in almost every other area; especially as a playmaker.
Congrats to DSJ on his first career triple-double. Payton had two of those in his rookie season and we are constantly reminded about how irrelevant those are any time he posts another.
DSJ may ultimately prove the better player than Isaac, but nothing he has done so far has changed the position that I held before the draft. I'd rather have Isaac.

I think Young and Doncic are better PG prospects than DSJ. DSJ is a streaky player, and the Magic need a go to guy, which is what those 2 appear to be.
