Trade ideas

Post#1 » by Airgordon00 » Sat Dec 30, 2017 10:52 pm

Any good trade ideas out there?

My most recent one is.
http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=yaewf92l

Orlando in: McCollum, telkovich, maker, and a future 1st from Milwaukee.

Orlando out: vooch, Gordon, Ross and dj.

Milwaukee in: vooch

Milwaukee out: telkovich, maker and future first.

Portland in: Gordon, Ross and dj.

Portland out: McCollum.

Why for Orlando: They get a go to scorer who is looking to lead his own team. They take a flyer on thon and get a manageable contract back in telkovich who also can space the floor. This move would free up some longer contracts for us plus help our tank.

Why for Milwaukee: They get a guy in vooch who can really help spread the floor and allow driving lanes for Greek the freak.

Why for Portland: They balance out there roster a little bit more and get a up and comer in Gordon who could be a great side kick to damien. They get 2 good role players to help them come playoff time.

Thoughts?

I'm not trading Gordon or Isaac unless it's for a star. Look I like McCollum a lot, but I think he's just under star level.

I understand that view. I just see a lot of good forwards and bigs coming out in this draft( Bagley, porter, donic, ayton and bamba) that could look real nice next to McCollum and Isaac as building blocks.

Don’t think it’s bad value but I don’t think I’d trade Gordon for CJ.

I like Jones and Dieng from Minnesota. Jones can shoot the ball and Dieng needs a change of scenery.

Vuc and EP for Jones and Dieng work.

I like both those players I just don’t love diengs contract and I feel like they might need to add a first to make the trade more fair for us.

I like the trade like it is. If you look at Jones Offense and defensive rating they're Chris Paul like. Dieng doesn't look like he can coexist with Towns. It would totally change our team. A PG that can shoot and a center who can defend.

What is this new found obsession with McCollum? Why do we want to invest 25m/yr in a 27 yr old when we're in arms length in drafting our PG of the future (Doncic/Young/Sexton)? This just seems like a fanboy obsession and a huge mismanagement of assets (specifically Gordon after displaying he could be a franchise player).

If we are going after veteran players that could help the young core I would be targeting Middelton not McCollum and not using our budding star to acquire him.

Us as an organization have to better and not so reactionary and retool/rebuildish the right way. This is last year until the draft reform so I fully expect WeHam to do everything possible to stay the course of a top 5 pick.

A couple of trades I would like to see happen..

Vuc to Boston

This could happen a few ways, but I would like to see a pick come back our way in some for.

Aaron Baynes
Guerschon Yabusele or Semi Ojeleye
Abdel Nader (Waived)
Boston FRP or Memphis FRP

for

Nikola Vucevic
Filler (if needed)

I will then try to find suitors for Hezonja, probably call Brooklyn and offer the following..

Hezonja
SRP (returning their own)

for

Dinwiddie

I would rather have Cj and Gordon playing together. Who would be opposed to Fournier and Isaac for Cj and their 1st [no protection]?

For those who can’t see it.

Orl in: thon maker, telkovich, joe Johnson, sefolosha, Utah 2018 first unprotected, and Milwaukee 2018 unprotected 1st.

Orl out: vooch, Fournier, speights, afflalo.

Utah in: Fournier and afflalo.

Utah out: joe Johnson, sefolosha, and 2018 first unprotected.

Milwaukee in: vooch and speights.

Milwaukee out: thon maker, telkovich, and 2018 first unprotected.

Why for Orlando: They get 2 first rd picks in this upcoming draft that could be in the lottery to low 20s which we could package to move up and snag 2 really good players to help build around. We take a flyer on thon and see what he can do. We get out of some long term money in Fournier And gain cap flexibility. Plus we help our tank by getting rid of Fournier and vooch. This will also allow Gordon to become the #1 option which will be good for our evaluation of him and see if he is worth the max (which I believe he will get offered it).

Why for Utah: They get Fournier who is real good friends with gobert and can be a real good player for them. They get an expiring in afflalo plus his veteran leadership and experience which could help come playoff time.

Why for me Milwaukee: They get vooch who will come in and be a great side kick to Greek the freak and Bledsoe. They get speights who can be instant offense off the bench.

You created:
Payton/Augustin/Mack
Ross/Johnson/Iwundu
Simmons/Sefolosha
Gordon/Teletović/Hezonja
Biyombo/Maker/Birch

So Orlando trades two starters for bench depth and two future low 1sts. It is an aged team this year and will be ultra young next year (you have the Magic carrying three rookies if all the firsts are taken). If the goal is to be bad this season (pro-tank) then this gets it done. The Magic is short on the wing and will have a lot of roster slots to fill in 2018/19.

Let's say the Magic draft at 3, 11-Utah, and 18-Milwaukee (the current draft slots), this could lead to Dončić, Wendell Carter, and Trevon Duval. Or in other words, the Utah and Milwaukee picks is about locking down the bench - and not drafting for starters.

If your trade plays out the 18/19 team would look like:
Payton/Augustin/Duval
Ross/Dončić/Iwundu
Isaac/Simmons
Gordon/Teletović/Carter
Biyombo/Maker

This team is also not very good. It is like the origins of the Hennigan rebuild in 2012 - get assets and plan for 2 years later.

If people are going to complain about the lost of tobias..... and dipo..... i'm more than positive that AG's trade would make people jump off of roofs when he blossoms. This possible talent jump is even more predictable than oladipo and tobias. I'm not as worried about the tobias trade.... the dipo trade i had to hypnotize myself into believing it was a positive or at the least sideways trade. Didn't work much but it is what it is.

Vuc for Middleton
Vuc for Otto Porter Jr

Those would be my ideas. Plus fillers to make either of those work

The filler would have to be AG or Isaac. No way they’d trade those guys for Vuc. Washington would rather have Gortat and Milwaukee just traded Monroe after trying to deal him for years.

Would love either but I doubt either would be accepted by the other team. Unless we had a way of taking bad money at the same time...which we don't have the cap space to do...And I don't know that I'd move heaven and earth to get the space to get these guys who would make us better but not really take a leap forward.
