I hate hearing that as a Wiz fan. I was hoping he'd resign to Vet Min after his contract expires. He has been remarkably consistent and healthy for us. With the way he sets picks and frees shooters and runs the PnR, he could easily play 10-15 MPG well into his late 30's.
Oh well.

Gortat, our 1st (#22) and Smith for Vuc and filler (Iwundu)?
Im not thrilled about the trade, but it gets us a Center that can spread the floor a bit and gets us under Lux tax.

Pick a different filler other than Iwundu and you have a deal.

Would welcome him back though for sure.

Miss that hammer celebration.

Always loved Marcin, and he's always loved Orlando. He's here every summer. Always gets his cars detailed during that time (I think it's the same folks on Colonial, but don't know now). He can sometimes be spotted in a random gym here and there playing pickup during the offseason.

Obviously I would trade Biz for Marcin in a second, but no way in hell they'd do that. Gortat still has years left in those legs.

I’ll never forget the closeout (I think) game in Philly. Ball goes to Gortat down the middle of the lane and he throws done the Polish Hammer. Flexes, then gets yelled at by SVG. I loved that god damn team.

been preaching for a 2nd year now about trading VUC for Mahinmi and Oubre
but if Gortat wants to come here we would have to modyfy the trade a bit but still my main goal would be geting Oubre somehow...

how about Gortat Smith and Oubre for Vuc+Ross(when healthy)you get 2 win now guys hell Id even add some future 2nd rounders or that okc pick

Again, no interest in trading Oubre. That said, we add even more in salary and for what? Ross was bad last year for you'll and was bad this year before he got injured.

You've said that, and it's just you not interested. The Wiz were very much interested in moving one of them last year.
That is not true. Noone wanted to trade Oubre. The Owner values Oubre high as much as Wall Brad and Otto. They moved up in the draft to get him with a reason.

He will be better than Otto. And as my colleague said earlier Kelly is 3 and Otto will be future 4.

I believe that was an Anthony Johnson dunk, and it was Gortat celebrating on the bench than got yelled at

I really would like to know the context this quote was used in, I think the for maybe 2-3 months part is key.

He wants to come here so he could jump start his retirement in his hometown not to play basketball.

Not that I expect him to be excited to join this team for basketball reasons, just setting your expectations so if he indeed comes over, I expect a lot of comments saying he's washed.

I see him eating at the burger fi across from my La fitness in windermere in the summer. I always yell GORTAT while pumping my fists from across the street and he laughs and waves. In my mind I had something to do with his willingness to return to our dumpster team.

Gortat improved his game so much while he was here and he's a fan favorite.
I'm sure he's unhappy not being more of an offensive focal point in Washington.
The guy is really not on the best team for him.
Best wishes from a fan.

Biyombo only looks good in a wiz uni because it would be like a little boy in a minute bol costume. The only jersey that looks good on him is a g league uni. And not Lakeland magic, some other team.
Other than that there's absolutely no reason the magic should sign gortat if they have to give anything up. Only if he's released. I loved him too but he really can't add anything to a tanking team that is likely to have high turnover besides one not needed win.

BTW, who was the guy that said he meet Gortat in the cold plunge at RDV Sportsplex years ago? That was a funny story.
