Aaron Gordon, Victor Oladipo and Dennis Smith Jr. have committed to participating in the 2018 Slam Dunk Contest.
Larry Nance Jr. is a strong candidate to be the fourth contestant.
The NBA will announce the participants next week.
Donovan Mitchell is one player who had gained momentum for the contest this season but it appears he will not receive an invite.

Nance is regarded as one of the league’s top athletes, and his father, Larry Nance, won the dunk contest in 1984.

Was hoping to see Terrance Ferguson there. Not sure about what Dipo can bring to the table this time around; wasn’t impressed with his showing in the 2015 dunk contest. He has been great for Indy this year though and seems like he made the reserves for the ASG.
DSJr will bring the hops and hopefully something we have never seen. Mitchell should be something similar if invited. Would be fun to see Nance Jr too.
However I’m most excited to see what AG00 is working on. He should come in favorite so it is for him to loose. Just play it safe early. Let’s go!

Watch Dipo will win this strictly cause he’s an ex magic player and we as fans have been ripped off so many times that the basketball gods will crush our souls again. We can’t have anything nice not even a dunk contest victory.

I loved what Oladipo did in his dunk contest here, but I also felt like that's the best he could do, he's a great in-game dunker. But maybe he will suprise me, him being here again suprised me, so maybe he's got something.
I know Aaron has to have a lot of ideas, it's just a matter if he has the ability to finish. I definitely believe he was injured last year and didn't have his normal hops. Hopefully he's good to go this time!
This is our NBA Finals this year! Lol

He was 100% injured, he also does dunk competitions in different places and on social media, I think he has something ready

Vic has been in the best shape of his entire career this season. Slimmed down considerably. Has even more body control in midair. He should do great in the dunk contest. He's also a legitimate all-star. Indiana is 0-5 without him, and 26-17 with him playing. If that doesn't warrant being an MVP candidate, I don't know what does.

Just occurred to me that Gordon in the dunk contest means management probably sees him as a Magician for the rest of this year, at least.

Yeah it would be tough to see him in a different jersey during the dunk contest. That would sting a lot of magic fans since this could be one of the bright spots of the year as a magic fan.

I was hyped about these the first few years of the rebuild... It's not fun anymore while the losses continue to pile up... especially when the one contestant that is an all-star was a guy we traded for essentially nothing (while giving up another solid lotto pick)

What's there to be proud of? He won't be able to win the contest while injured. And on top of that it's his payday off-season. Who would jeopardize his health in such circumstances? Just common sense here.
