Can Mario Be Our Starting PG Next Season?

I'm really impressed with Hezonja ability to push the ball in transition with his athleticism and he could be a taller version of a John Wall/Scottie Pippen hybrid for us!
A few plays last night he seemed like he wanted to push the ball and catch the defense napping, but later deferred to either Augustine or Mack.
The kid has a lot of upside and we should really give him the keys to run our offense now so he can really become that much confident running our team next season!

Mario will not be here next season.
No, he's not a PG, he only has advanced vision and creativity. He lacks handles to play a SF, let alone PG.

Hezonja is unlikely to ever again pay in the NBA. He will command a larger salary and an increased role in the Euroleague.

He can't play point guard at a junior varsity level.
Definitely improved a lot over the course of the season, hope we retain him. But I don't see him as a Scottie Pippen/John Wall hybrid

I don't know about next season, but I like the idea for the rest of this one.
we get worse, mario's handles get better and we make a better case to retain him showing that we are committed. seems like win, win, win to me.

Hahaha, come on man.
I will backtrack, eat a little crow and say that yes Mario has looked better of late; you can’t deny that. However, the bar was so low that anything would be better than before and he is doing this with everyone else out. What happens when he is deligated back to a 5th option or even a bench player? Does he go back to being the lost kid standing around watching?
I’ll give him a $5-8M per year offer to stick around. I fully expect him to say no to that, but I think he has earned an offer from us still.

You are aware that we can't offer him more than what our declined TO was ($5M), right? It is in every other post on the topic of resigning Mario.

No way. He's not coming back to Europe if he can find a team in nba that will sign him.

Ah, crap. Duh. Yeah, I forgot about that.
Regardless, choosing not to pick up his option signaled to most of us that he was officially out of our 2018-2019 plans. My point still stands that he has stepped up well enough to earn an offer from us. Surely it will not be enough to overcome his unpleasant memories here, but we should make the offer still.

I'm pretty confident we'll talk to his agent, however he might be able to find better contracts in Europe, let alone NBA.

I never seen Mario bring the ball up the court nor can't remember him dribbling like a PG in the half court. I was very shocked when I saw this topic.

That highlight showed us that he can barely keep a dribble going top speed.
