Thanks for getting the thread created. Only about a month of regular season ball left and this nightmare of a season being over. Hopefully we will come out favorable in this tank war.

I'm starting to get on the wing bandwagon here. Just get a true scoring SF and I will be happy. I think we end up picking 5-6.

I'm really hoping MPJ actually plays today which is 3:00 in case your wondering, he's the dark horse but is kind of the home run we need.

Awesome, thanks for this. I am almost 100% sure that he is playing today and I would have forgotten it started so early.

The Bulls win is interesting for Orlando's lottery hopes.
As there looks to be 7 stater-level talents in this draft, at #8, the Bulls is now 2 1/2 games better than Orlando.

I was contemplating which scenario is prefer here last night. Would I rather close in on #1 or create extra separation from the back of the pack?
I honestly think I prefer separation, ensuring better odds at any one of the top prospects and crossing my fingers for lotto-luck.

My biggest frustration with this franchise is we could and should only win 3 more games. We continue to compete in meaningless games like last night and could end up drafting another starting level player like Hezonja, Gordon, Isaac, Fournier (I know we didn’t draft him) rather than be in position to draft a difference maker like Doncic or Ayton and be in another KP, Towns, Embiiid situation. Personally I want Doncic or Porter and to somehow trade back in with Fournier, Vucevic, etc and draft Young. Going into next season with
Young
Doncic
Hezonja*
Gordon
Issac
Young
Hezonja*
Porter
Gordon
Isaac
(*if we somehow manage to resign him)
The only way we make that happens is if Young drops to the later lottery (8-14) and we’d have to give up future picks too, which would be worth it in my opinion

A win tomorrow doesn’t set our fate but boy ‘O boy a loss would be such an incredible boost to the tank effort.

A loss to Sacramento would be great.

Jumping into the middle of the convo here:
If we are drafting 5-6, the medical reports are favorable and obviously he is still on the board, we could do a lot worse than MPjr as our future SF.

Doncic, Porter, and Mikal Bridges bandwagon here.
DJ* (whoever in a trade out of Ross, Fournier, Vuc)
Fournier or Ross
(Doncic/Porter or Bridges)
AG
Isaac
Time for WeHam to build a roster of their own.

I’m usually very decisive and set on my picks. This class is so tough to settle on.
Honestly, my board is this:
Top 2 pick)
Give me Ayton or Doncic. I have a preference but not enough to bother stating it. Either would be amazing.
3-6 pick)
Give me Bagley, MPjr, Bamba or JJjr. Again, I have my order (intentionally not shown here) but the margins are slim enough that I really don’t care much which one we pick.
#7 pick)
Trae Young
#8-9 pick)
Mikail Bridges or Colin Sexton

What happens with Gordon? Do you play Isaac at the 4 longterm and let AG walk this offseason?

Isaac has a long way to go offensively and we are likely losing Mario.
Drafting a gifted wing and resigning AG would still leave plenty of minutes as backup 3-4-5 (or even starter at 5) for Isaac.

No, I would play Isaac/Gordon and the new guy at 3 4 5 and just matchup on defense according to best fit each night.
For example, last night I watched Isaac defend the Lakers C for a bit before switching on IT. He can defend any position, but if he is getting pushed around too much, AG can also defend the 5 a little as I have seen him play small ball 5 and do quite well on guys like Towns.
Then you rotate in Birch or whomever.
I am strongly for the Magic rolling out 4 wings if they get the right SF as it would yield fantastic matchups on offense. AG would almost always draw the PF, Isaac would now be going against Centers and the draft pick would have a natural SF matchup.
We have to use Isaac to our advantage. He allows us to have creative lineups. Additionally that front court would be loaded with talent.
Isaac can defend anyone, so let him. He will add some size this summer and be a real terror inside the paint and on help D.
