Totally rooting for Elf to go off in this game. I want nothing more than for all his fans to say "seeee!!! he can do it!!" while we go down in flames. I will take that super short term L all day long.

It’s March and the “Sons” are trying to out-tank Orlando. Guaranteed career high for the mop.

“It did not hurt my feelings,” Payton said in a phone interview with the Orlando Sentinel.
“Coming into the season, I had already prepared myself mentally for something like this. No disrespect to Jeff and John, but I knew that they didn’t draft me. So I knew there was a possibility that in their new job they would want to put their stamp on the team or try to get their team. Even though that was the only move, I always told myself there was a chance that something like this could happen this season. So I was not sad or hurt by the decision or upset that I had to get all my stuff and move or wouldn’t be with my teammates no more.”
The Magic’s low return for Payton surprised many fans, but Weltman said receiving a second-round pick was the best the team could do.
“I think more people made a big deal about it than I did,” Payton said. “I didn’t really think much of it. I heard there was other things out there for me and they just decided to go with that one.”

Man, I hope he gets his revenge. Needs to stop being a beta and start dropping those late-season triple-dubs, starting TOMORROW NIGHT!

We couldn’t play the horse elf, so we went with the second round pick.

He has been complete disaster with them. His TS dropped to putrid 48,8% he has offensive rating below 100 and worst defensive rating among starting PGs, he is box score negative in both ways.
Shoots 22,7% for 3, 44% overall and turns the ball over more than ever.
First trade that our GMs won since....Fournier trade i guess.

At first I thought WeHam was being smart about sending Elf to PHX in order to get them to improve their record and let us out tank them so we could get Trae Young. In reality, they were being smart about sending Elf to PHX in order to make them the worst team in the league and in no way make it reasonable for them to take Young that high.

This game will come down to who has the most competitive / ‘I’m gonna show him’ streak out of Elf and DJ. Sadly, it’s probably DJ.

The Magic is playing no defense right now. And the offense has been poor. This is a winnable game for Phoenix.
Orlando is very unlikely to catch Phoenix/Memphis, but a loss her helps Orlando create space from Bull, Kings, and Nets.
Edit: I predict the first team to 90 points wins in a TO prone catastrophic "game".
Games like this make me want to take up drinking.
