Interesting. I can definitely see the strategic benefits of it. If you participant in these actions, and are truthful most of the time, you can lie and fake someone out when the time is right.

If players weren't lying and using it for strategy I would be more upset (which is how I felt at the beginning of the article).

Overall it does still bother me a little, but doesn't really surprise me.

My take from this article is that Ben Simmons is a cutthroat winner. Made me like him more.

Players are coasting during season since forever.
I feel like, despite not having Curry, Warriors are borderline bored with regular season. And you can't even blame them, they were in nba finals in last 3 years, what's there to prove in regular season?
That goes for good players on bad teams as well. Why play hard after allstar, risk injury and spend whole offseason in pain and recovery?
After all they are just humans with their personal feelings and with that much money they want to live and enjoy their lifes away from court as well.

I like that attitude. However, it seems this is a common practise in professional basketball, not necessarily just in NBA, though it may not be so openly communicated (or tried to make look good on the camera) in Europe against weaker opponents. Apparently even great competitors as KG deed this.

A lot of players have beefed with him this year and I can understand why now.
