What do we do with Evan Fournier?
He's 25 and getting $17 mil a year for the next 3 seasons. His value is probably as high as it'll ever be considering his age, and he's a solid player, but I really think him and Vuc need to go.
Do you all think we keep him or package him to someone in hopes of becoming a legitimate playoff threat like the Nuggets, Wizards, Pistons, Bucks, etc.?
Running through the trade machine and we could flip him for young talent and a bad contract in a couple of scenarios. We could get Luke Kennard + Jon Leuer and maybe a 2nd round pick from the Pistons or we can send Evan + Vuc to the Grizzlies for Chandler Parsons and maybe try to do a 1st round pick swap for this year depending on how the lottery shakes out.

I’m all for Fournier being traded. He’s talented but he’s naturally most effective when looking for his own shot. He’s not the type of player winning teams need. I’d package him and Vucevic for a difference maker. I don’t think your ideas help us all that much unless Parsons returns to his old form.

Re: What do we do with Evan Fournier?
I actually liked him more in the second half of the year. Seemed like he spread the ball around more. Less of that buddy ball garbage. Would much rather get rid of Vuc than Evan though, Evan was our best offensive player.

very good shooter, decent handles, can drive the basket. explain again why he is not the type of player winning teams need? he is exactly the type of player.

I think he could work well with someone like Trae young. Remember Payton gave him zero spacing.

Re: What do we do with Evan Fournier?
I think with a competent creator he can be a contender level starter. This year he played behind Gordon on offense despite being clearly the better player. He was angry at the start but let it go in second half of the season. Unlike Vuc he has this competetive fire in him. I say trade Vuc and see what we have with Fournier after we get competent first option on offense.
Ps. Our offense- Fournier is trying to drive and spacing for him are Payton, Gordon, Ross(who couldnt shoot this year), and buddy ball Vuc.After Gordon became his real self on offense i feel sorry for evan

I rather let Vuc go and keep him, but wouldn't be opposed to moving him if it sets up into the right direction in the future.

Been saying it for 3 years... he needs to go. I'll take anything, but we should be able to get something halfway decent at least. Chemistry killer. Addition by subtraction at this point.

Why you think he is chemistry killer? I dont see it, and havent read about it. Only thing i read was him questioning Vogel playing Gordon at sf last year and being frustrated that Gordon is so selfish this year( but he adjusted in second half of the season). I was angry that Gordon put his contract year above team success so i am not suprised Evan was too.

He was the ring leader of a team with bad chemistry from top to bottom. The best word to describe our locker room is toxic. Both Vuc and AG alluded to our problems in their exit interviews.

Re: What do we do with Evan Fournier?
Well Id actually want to keep him.I always liked his style of play outside of buddyball.
Id keep him if we could but I understand money implications and he is propably easiest to trade of our big contracts.
If it has to be done then do it.Tho Id rather trade Vuc and look for money savings elswhere>cough (Coin toss) cough

Re: What do we do with Evan Fournier?
He's actually really skilled and would be great as a 2nd or 3rd option, our problem is that we're really trying to force him to be the go to guy. Like add a trae young or another go to scorer and Evan becomes so much better, and with no offense coming from the SF position and like a new center, it would be bad to go with a new sg as well

Re: What do we do with Evan Fournier?
I actually think Simmons is the better trade Chip and if I was the GM I'd try to trade him before Evan
But really, both centers need to go before anything else. I like vuc but he's gone, and Biyombo is worthless and needs to go asap. I know Biyombo is literally as untradable a contract as there is in sports, but let's hope we find a team dumb enough to do it

Re: What do we do with Evan Fournier?
Magic net rating went from -3 to - 7 without him.
Magic eFG % went from 52% with to 49% without him.
TS from 55% to 52%
Today it's not even debatable that he is by far best Magic offensive player.
Is he tradable ? Sure. But why? Because he sucks or because he is easiest to trade because other teams know he can help them?
What would you want in return? You have to take one big contract or 2 smaller ones to make a trade work.
I really hope that you guys understand that at SG he is one of best players, that position sucks in nba and guys like Bradley, KCP or Batum all cost , or will cost around $20M a year, others, like Beal, Booker , MItchell, Klay are allstars and are not tradable . Guys like JJ Redick ($23M this year ) , Tyler Johnson ( $20M next year ), JR Smith ( $15M) all cost a lot, and Evan is actually better than most of them anyway. And younger than pretty much all guys i mentioned.
Beal, McCullum , Derozan, Oladipo,Batum, Klay all signed max contracts, some of them just before new CBA so their contracts are not that huge.
So we are left with Garry Harris that Nuggets won't let go, Mitchell that Jazz will never let go, Wade who might retire, Zach Lavine who looked awful after injury and allegedly looks for max, Danny Green , 8 ppg player who looks for first big contract , at age of 30, JJ Redick who is 33, Ginoblili (40), Wes Matthews, 31, who is averaging 12 ppg on medicore efficiency for $18M a year, Tony Allen ( 37), Garry Tample ( 31), NIck Young (31).
So yea... go ahead and pick your guy for next year. Good luck.
Maybe playing somebody out of position for 3 years due inability of menagment to find SF shouldn't be held againt player but against menagment?

It would be nice if we could get Philly's 10 pick for him.

And then Weltman would trade those picks for future picks. #TheDraftFlattenedOut
