new season 2019: Is Magic done with tanking?

Post#1 » by MasterGMer » Sat Apr 28, 2018 7:58 pm

2019 season the lottery will change

First 3 team will be 14%
4 will be 12.5% and 5 will be 10.5%

The league is trying to change the odds so that team will not tank no more

What will Orlando Magic do? Keep losing or start winning by making moves this summer?

What moves would you make either way?

mine:
get a coach who is going to win
Sign AG
Draft Trae Young
Get a Defensive Big

Start winning

Umm yeah quite a few, SF RJ Barrett, SG Cam Reddish, PF Zion Williamson, C Bol Bol, C Daniel Gafford, SF Nasir Little, SG Keldon Johsnon, SF Sekou Doumouya, PF Nazeron Reid, SG Romeo Langford. Those are the projected top 10 picks, and all are very good.

Barrett - Think Grant Hill mixed with some T-Mac

Reddish - Think of a better Joe Johnson mixed with some Pippen

Williamson - Think Larry Johnson

Bol - Think of his dad(Manute Bol) mixed with some Porzingis

Gafford - Think Marcus Camby

Little - Think Kawhi Leonard

Johnson - Think Devin Booker

Doumouya - Think Jabari Parker

Reid - Think Al Jefferson

Langford - Think Rip Hamilton

How do you know all this?

If I am not mistaken, they are all in high school?
So their skill sets are already developed at such a young age to deserve a top 10 pick ALREADY?

The talent is so poor on this team we need another high lottery pick in 2019.

Non tanking in the 2019-2020 season

To be really honest with you, our talent is not that bad.

All we need is a super star and that, in my opinion, will fix anything and we could go deep in the playoff with that. (Look at NOP and MIL, Wiz)

Issac.
Maybe AG at 18-20

Evan, Vuc, DJ, Biz are not part of the future

Who else? We need a homerun with 2018 and 2019 lottery pick.

2019 Mock draft. Those players are all at the very top of this incoming high school class except Gafford who will be a sophomore at Arkansas. Barrett, Reddish and Williamson are all in the top 4 of this high school class, and all 3 are going to Duke.

Bol Bol is committed to Oregon.

Little is committed to UNC

Johnson is committed to Kentucky

Doumouya is a French player, playing over seas

Reid is committed to LSU

Gafford will be a sophomore at Arkansas, he choose not to enter 2018 draft. Was considered a late 1st round pick for 2018. 11.8 ppg, 6. 5 rpg, 2.3 bpg, 1 apg 60% FG 55% FT as a freshman

Langford is uncommited, it's between Indiana and Kansas.

Why are you already that high on Issac? How many games he played this season? I do not understand the hype.

AG definitely part of the rebuild. But heck, no matter what team, we still need quality role players, right?

Evan and Simmons are greatly under-valued by lots of you. We are not lucky like 76ers, Ben, Embiid or Fultz.

We need to get lucky in the draft this year.

We will see. But with the change of odds, 8th worst team is not that different than 2nd or 3rd. If I were the coach, win at the best you can.

We are going to be in the lottery again. We suck and our roster is not very good. Be prepared for another less than 30 win season.

We have failed to tank properly in the last few years. There will be at least another 2-3 years of proper tanking ahead of us. The only asset we have is AG whom may be a 3rd option at a winning team. Truth hurt, we simply suck and tank is just an excuse for been suck.

What we need is to draft another Curry and Embiid and we're golden. It's just a matter of opinion if we're gonna find them at pick no.1 (tank) or 13th (don't tank).

Changes in lottery odds next season actually favor incompetent teams such as us and Kings.

I have a feeling Weltham will try to rebuild without tanking, similar to what Bucks and Raps have done. But truth be told, neither team is scaring anyone or having much success in postseason.
