2. Draft Mohammad Bamba
3. Let Aaron Gordon walk
4. Trade Vucevic for Terry Rozier
5. Trade Fournier to get back in round one and grab Mikal Bridges.
6. Resign Mario.

C: Bamba/Birch/Biyombo
PF: Issac/Vet
SF: Hezonja/Simmons
SG: Bridges/Ross
PG:Rozier/Augustine/Purvis?

This lineup has the prospects of getting somewhere. In my honest opinion. Be gentle guys.

FIX IT FOR YOU.

C: Bamba / Biyombo / Birch
PF: Isaac / Wendell Carter
SF: Simmons / Hezonja / Iwundu
SG: Ross / Bridges / Diallo
PG: Rozier / Augustin / Grayson Allen

Two rookies as starter is too much.

On offense Isaac will play post-up and Gordon will be perimeter. But the point on positions is really a defensive question. Isaac will defend the PF and Gordon the SF (or if the Pamgic draft Porter, the SG).

Gordon is an elite perimeter defender. He will defend on the wing a great deal next year no matter of the draft unfolds.

Young won't start on opening night. Rookie PGs are universally awful.

I was super excited by how well Birch played he 4 in the final two games, or so. If the Magic do not resign Hezoja, Birch might be the primary back-up PF next year!

I love this trade proposal...San Antonio will not. I'd do it without their pick - Murray alone outweighs our side.

If the Magic draft Jackson or Bamba, this is as-good-as-it-gets for Orlando. And yes Vučević must be traded. If the Spurs do sign Leonard to his super-max deal, Vučević's ultra cheap deal will be an asset, as will the ability to waive Mack and reclaim 5M.

Let's have the Magic promote Caupain, sign Omri Casspi as a FA, draft Bamba, trade Biyombo and a 2nd for Noah, and draft Allen.
The team becomes:

Augustin/Murray/Caupain
Fournier/Ross/Iwundu/Allen
Isaac/Simmons
Gordon/Casspi/Birch
Gasol/Bamba/Noah

There is a great deal to like about that roster.

I wouldn't mind being awful for a few games. Just throw him out there

I love the optimism of some of these trades. Hopefully, I've just developed a Magic fan inferiority complex...I think there is virtually no market for Vuc or he'd already be gone (like Elf). I think he may be worth more to us to possibly trade as an expiring later. Sad as he's got value on the court-maybe the Trae Young induced ball movement will re-ignite him. Same for Evan, while I think his contract is fair for his talent, it makes it harder to trade him. Keep him unless he's part of a bigger package with Mack, etc...I don't see him netting us Mikal Bridges, who may be better than him offensively and way better than him defensively the day he enters the league (with a 20% price tag)...Ross also has value, both as a player and as a trade asset. Biggest move of this offseason (could be) coach...either a yawn or a breakthrough. I brought home Jay Wright's book from the library yesterday-for some mojo.

If the Magic draft Young, he could be a starter around the ASW. But he won't start opening night.

1) Draft the best perimeter player available
2) If AG is getting close to max offers figure out a way to do a sign and trade or let him walk (should of just traded him earlier but its too late now)
3) Try to move Vuc for an asset. Try to move Biz and not take back a contract (easier said than done)
4) Put feelers out for Evan and Simmons
5) Don't take on long term commitments, sign FA's to short term contracts
6) Prepare for another long losing season

Not a bad off season...

... just wondering why we would be giving up an asset to trade for a player that hasn't played for them for most of his contract, has had a falling out with management and they are probably desperately looking for a taker. i would assume they were the ones throwing in the asset to make it happen for us.

I think New York would trade Noah straight up for Biyombo. Many here disagree with that logic. But as the Magic is very unlikely to keep both seconds, dumping #41 in this trade is some sort of balance.

I'm not 100% on this ...but, 2nd rounders are not in any way guaranteed contracts, so drafting 12 guys (hypothetically) is not a problem, you just can't sign them all. No upside to dumping a second round pick without some compensation...correct me if I'm wrong.

Updated my signature with my realistic hopes. JJJ or WCJ at 6, move back in to get Okobo or Anfernee Simmons.

Start next season with Okobo/Anfernee-Fournier-Gordon-Isaac-Biz
