thoughts...he wants LA; we'd have to give our life savings for him and he's a FA next summer.

Pass.

It really depends on San Antonio's front office strategy. Do they want to try and rally around Aldridge and whoever they can get for Kawhi or is it finally time for San Antonio to go full rebuild? Their core is old. Manu, Parker, and Pau are all on their last legs. Manu is about to be 41! Aldridge and Gay are in their early 30s which means their prime years are closing fast.

With Kawhi wanting out, if I'm San Antonio I rip the band aid and start trying to acquire picks and young talent asap. Aldridge, Kawhi, and Gay an net them some favorable deals.

Another problem though is if they go full rebuild, does Pop stick around? He may retire as well.

Kawhi has some say though i'm sure, and i doubt he has any interest here. plus he's got a player option next offseason, Magic don't want to have to deal with that IMO.

The Durant-Kawhi-Paul George trio on the Magic is the greatest super team that never was

I saw on twitter or maybe the wiretap here, that Pop doesn't know if he'll coach past '19-'20 season. He's 69 and has 5 rings, he may very well retire soon.

Almost as great as the Dwight-CP3-Hedo-Lewis super team that never was.

I could very well see him, Manu, and Tony all calling it quits if the Spurs decide to rebuild. Pau probably requests out to ring chase, maybe Aldridge as well.

Certainly feels like this is shaping up to be a LeBron-Leonard-George team up in LA scenario.

The rich get richer. LA has the most championships(or still tied with Boston?). They'll get out of their post Kobe funk quicker than we'll get out of post Dwight funk. They got lucky and got the #2 pick in back to back years and now they might get Lebron, Kawhi and George.

I could see Philly jumping on this and they have assets to make it happen and a SF spot available for him.

He's from California though, like George. Lakers would have the edge for both.

true. But does he want to have chances to win more titles? or just play in LA.

Probably both. And he'll have a better chance at titles with Lebron and George than Simmons and Embiid.

Boston has 17, L.A. 16. Next closest is Chicago & Golden State with 6 each.

Yeah.....To be fair though, if we made a couple of smarter decisions we'd be out of our Dwight funk by now, too.

Ahh well, here's looking to the future........I hope.

LA Sounds great but it isn't the best place for a title - they have to trade for Kawhi and that means they would have to gut the team of it's value(rookie contracts) for Kawhi. Maybe you convince Paul George but then what? Who is going to take on the other bad contracts without getting value in return?

I'm just floored trying to think through this right now.

I wouldn't be surprised if he already has some sort of verbal agreement with some other players to join him

If LAL trades for KL, they can still sign LeBron and George if they let Randle go. Or am I wrong?
