Maybe I'm crazy, but I'm incredibly excited about this core of players.

If things don't work out, we've got a good negative name for them too.

Can't wait to see them in action together. We get to see the first glimpse of it during summer league (minus AG).

The magic got so lucky Atlanta and Dallas played themselves and let Bamba fall. It's been a while since we've had a defensive presence. Those are my favorite teams to root for. I can't wait.

They haven't played together at all yet. Calling them Orlando's new Big 3 is going way to far right now.

I wonder if they can actually all play together?
The team would need some lights out shooters..
I think issac/Gordon are both more pf than sf. They would have to become passable at 3 point shooting to have this work. They should be able to defend anyone thou.
They need to find a pg who makes this all click

you can't develop all 3 of these guys at the same time and do them justice. we don't have the backcourt other than maybe fournier to support a frontline like that. well, i don't think anyone does.

We need superior offensive players for these guys to fit altogether.

Yes, that is the idea. If they all develop their shots this could work well. I have little doubt AG and Isaac will be adequate outside shooters. And Bamba has me excited about the "new" form, which I would categories as solid compact repeatable form.
Elite length, elite athleticism, elite agility and switching ability, combined with good outside shooting is a recipe for success.
Absolutely love that this is counter trend to the small ball trend and also though unique to this level, the bigger, faster, stronger concept still applies if these guys by all accounts will not be forced off the floor due to defensive mismatches. The ability to switch between AG Isaac and Bamba combined with the elite length is really something this league has never seen.
It is an experiment, but again I love the fundamentals of this experiment.

Yes, sure, especially currently if we are trying to win this year. A vet point guard is needed to bring offensive structure.
But, lets keep in mind timeframe, AG, Isaac, and Bamba will improve offensively over the next 5 years as this core approaches their prime. I still believe in his prime AG will be a #2 scoring option at the least. This post contract year I am expecting him to settle back in to fundamental basketball and show a jump in offensive stats, I especially have my eye on his assist apg totals for the 2018-2019 season. I am expecting a big jump in apg totals for Mr. AG.

I've never understood this logic.. 3 guys who aren't even average offensive players at these points of their careers are ALL going to improve their scoring/shooting abilities to star caliber levels. I've never seen that happen on a singular team.
I think AG might be resigned here (because Issac is probably another season or two away from starting). But I can't see all 3 guys who pretty much have a least optimal offensive pedigree to share the floor consistently. They tried this a few years ago and it failed miserably. I can't see this being any different especially with younger guys with lesser experience/skill-sets

Maybe if the stats record all of their points as a single player called BIG they could match curry's ppg.

Well, they better get to work on improving themselves. Otherwise, they will look like Arrogant, Skinny Stiffs at the end of the rainbow.

Yeah. Too much pipedream on all of them improving on offense. Perhaps getting more consistent. But expecting all to make a jump is too much.

Expecting a rookie, a 2nd year player who was injured all of last year, and a 22 year old AG to improve is too much? I mean if people are expecting huge things from all 3 this year, of course. Expecting it a year or two from now isn't far-fetched at all.
I don't think any of these 3 will be superstars on offense, but all 3 can be good. Add in the defense, that's more than enough from your frontcourt. We still need dynamic guards, as do most teams.
And I think it will easily be better than a few years ago which featured a worse Gordon (offensively), "I'm 11th on the team in offensive efficiency" Vucevic, and Ibaka who only shot threes and didn't really want to pass or do much of anything else.
