Could we be looking at two PGs named Isaiah on the roster? lol.

Must've wanted to lock him up before summer league and risk another team swooping in.

Think tyreke evans, same weakness.... Shooting.... Or at least that's his weakness when he was coming out of college. Maybe he worked on his shot overseas

From what i read he is a tough guy with great fundamentals. He was not drafted becouse of his busted shot, but word is he repaired it overseas

Don't think a single person saw him play last year overseas, these summer games will give us the 1st incite since his UK days.

Bargain bin hunting. Hopefully, we can be our version of Spencer Dinwiddie.

Teams are starting to search backups overseas. I am so happy we are at the forefront of this trend. Some of this guys better than late first rounders

It's such a fine line sometimes....

Look at the Nets PGs right now,
Spencer - Undrafted
Lin - Undrafted
Whitehead - 2nd rd, 42 pick

If I.B. improved his jumper to respectable, it could be a real find.

Powerfully built at 6-3 and 218 pounds, Briscoe has an exceptional 6-9.5 wingspan to go with long and strong hands, wide shoulders and a big frame, all of which makes for an intriguing physical profile from a combo-guard. He has a strong first step, is particularly tough to stop when he gets a head of steam and changes gears and directions efficiently off the bounce. Briscoe relies heavily on his strength at the college level, and plays mostly below the rim from an explosiveness standpoint. -

As a Gator it pains me to talk positively about Isaiah Briscoe, but his 2 years at Kentucky he was the team leader and the catalyst for everything that they did. He does everything well except he had an awful shot. Even with that bad shot, he played great defense, really gritty player, and could get to the hole and finish. He was one of the players that I hated to play against because he did all the little things and had great intangibles that the typical one and done Kentucky teams struggle with.

from the NBA combine:
http://stats.nba.com/draft/combine-anthro/#!?SeasonYear=2017-18&sort=PLAYER_NAME&dir=-1
you'll see his wingspan at 6.9.
the 6.8 was from the KY combine the year before.

His international stats
FG% 0.487
3P% 0.390
FT% 0.707
18.5 pts
3.4 rb
4.2 ast
1.6 stl
I dont have questions. He is a strong crafty point guard everyone has so much success with. With his measurements if he is a hit its a bullseye.

Bigger PG (6-3) & 220 lbs and long wingspan (6-9). Was a top prospect in HS, struggled with shooting in college. Still young at 22 years old. More of a combo guard, but still a good ball handler and passer. In college was forced out of position due to playing with De'Aaron Fox, Malik Monk, Tyler Ulis, and Jamal Murray. Often really awkwardly playing off ball and in SF position because of this.

Last season in Kentucky shot 47% overall, 29% from 3 (1.5 attempts) and 65% FT.
Overseas in 39 games he shot 49% overall, 38% from 3 (3 attempts) and 70% FT.

Definitely been working on his shooting. He won the Russian Young Player of the Year award. I definitely feel like he got the raw end of unfortunate player combinations in Kentucky. Never their top prospect, but always too good to be benched so he was constantly playing out of position.

I'm actually really happy with this pickup. You can tell he's been improving, is hungry, and has some talent. I'm hoping he's given a legitimate chance as the main backup if we don't get someone better than Augustin to push him back further.

Really strong handle and gritty defender, if his shot has improved he will be a gem.

Hopefully, he can be the Khem Birch of this season. It would be great to see Weltman and Hammond find success with discovering European players that are ready to make the jump to the NBA.

Obviously, we are all want to hear about the other Isaiah, but I’m excited about Briscoe as well and I really don’t see him as anything but a third string player that can work his way up like Birch.
