Robbins: Magic Sign Troy Caupain to Two-Way Contract

Post#1 » by Howard Mass » Wed Jul 11, 2018 4:33 am

Troy Caupain got one of The Magic's two-way contracts.

Read on Twitter

This is good news as I felt they could have used a point guard last year on a two-way deal especially when injuries and they were left with one at times.

The offense really got ugly when this happened.

With a shaky point guard situation to begin with, this will give The Magic another point guard who will know the system and can be called up in case of injury.

Most of all, he really earned this for his play last season and in Summer League.

Now, we will wait and see if Justin Jackson or someone else gets that second two-way.

Happy for Troy, he worked hard and now his dream is about to come true.

Love rewarding good g league play and hard work.

Last year it was Caupain and Jamel Artis as the 2 way contract players. I think the other 2 way contract player will either be Artis or Justin Jackson.

Actually it was Adriean Payne who had the other two way deal along with Artis. Then he had problems with the law, was waived, and the Magic never signed someone to fill the second two way spot.

I personally don't think Caupain has the athleticism or the three point shot to stick in the NBA right now, so his best bet is to keep drilling his jumper since he's not likely to get much more athletic.

He's still a really solid G-Leaguer.

He had his moments that shined, but he's got some work left to do as well. As of now, a guy getting free Magic workout gear.
