The Magic signed Braian Angola-Rodas for their Training Camp Roster.

He is likely going to compete for the second two-way deal or be on The Lakeland Magic Roster this season.

What’s the status of Justin Jackson contract and roster wise? 2-way? G league?

I figured after watching him play the first couple games he would have a serious chance at a roster invite. You could tell from the start he know how to play basketball and actually has some skill & decent b ball iq (unlike player like Frazier & iwundu)

He has a lot of work to do but happy for him.

By having an Exhibit 10 deal, I interpret this that he is guaranteed at least a two-way contract, or 200k+ to play B-ball.
For a former communist college baller this is Nice!

A nice story on his journey:

A G league deal is capped to below $30k but with guarantees from NBA teams, the top 10% of the league is in the 45k range. All players can be called up by any NBA team at any time on any deal. Normally the get called to a 10-day deal (paid at league minimum salary for the pro-rated time; that ten days is thus the same 30k as the year's G-leauge salary for a rookie and is 40-80k for vet players).

A Two way deal is a G league contract where the player can only be called up by one NBA team and that player can only spend 45 days in the NBA, all at NBA minimum salary levels. If all 45 days are spent, these deals pay more than 200k (plus daily NBA living allowances).

An Exit 10 deal is an absolute minimum NBA contract (no bonuses and one year only) that can be converted to a two-way deal all the way up to opening night.

Angola-Rodas isn't exactly young having already turned 24, but he's still relatively inexperienced basketball wise.

Perfect kind of raw athlete with tools to send to Lakeland for a year and see if he can continue developing.

I don't really expect him to get the second two-way slot (I think it will go to Jackson), but I've been wrong before.

Angola was a huge part of why FSU made their deep tourney run. He can catch fire and make huge shots in clutch moments. I don’t think he will be on the court in the NBA during those times so it probably will not translate. But I do think he is better than Caupain, and he may get some minutes for us if we have injury.

Really nice to see him get a shot on the G League. I think in the end he goes to Europe and has a really strong carerr, but who knows what can happen.

Angola-Rodas is displaying the Gym-rat behaviour that makes managing, ment salivate. He might bounce around the low league a couple years, but this energy push suggests a good career in the NBA. Given that three years served is today worth North of 5 million in salary, not a bad pay day for a very, very hard worker.

When I look at his physical form, he has potential to be a rotational player. That could be worth North of north. Might Angola-Rodas earn 20M over his basketball career? He has potential for that if he give all.

I don't care that Iwundu is younger he has not improved at all, like nothing at all. Angola is already more skilled and plays with fire that Iwundu lacks, I say cut Iwundu and give this guy a shot.
