Should Magic sign David Nwaba

I would cut Purvis and sign Nwaba who is only 25 to a 3 yr. /$9-12 million contract. He is a great defender and with Iwundu showing no growth and Frazier being raw Nwaba could come and play right away. He would be perfect for the defensive culture we are creating here.

Why waste 4M for next 3 years? There's no PT for him and we already have couple Nwaba's on our roster, who are 3 years younger than him.

Should have done it last year whenLakers waived him I said here we should have claim this dude off waivers.Atm I don’t care.He is one of the best if not the best guard rebounder in the league...but whatever I actually don’t care at this point.Still bummed out we didn’t sign IT.

By December chances are you'll be relieved we didn't do it.

Rather have Briscoe, Grant and Caupain develop while letting Isaac, AG and Bamba get touches. We should be aiming for a top 5 pick and than we can sign a pg next season. Iwundu is about to be 24 and doesnt look like a NBA player. Nwaba at 25 is mich better than Iwundu and I would rather cut Purvis and sign Nwaba.

I would if we traded some bigger minute guys, but I’m pretty sure he doesn’t want to be the 5th wing on a 25-win team.

With the VanVleet and IT OrlandoMagic RealGM obsession over, are we starting the Nwaba obsession now?

Same here, only if Evan, Simmons, or Ross were on the move.

If the Magic was to trade Ross, then yes, David Nwaba would be a nice competent SG behind Fournier.

Because this is not Isaiah Thomas from Boston days. His post-injury version thinks he can score, but actually can't. He'll score 15pts on 14 FGAs and .500 TS%, if he get's back on court before December.

He was rehabbing an injury all of last season and finally got it fixed with surgery. Now we'll get to start judging him off of this season of play. To not have taken a chance for 2 mil or so dollars for one year because he may still be injured makes no sense to me. Low risk, high reward. Worst case scenario, he's still not the same IT, he chucks and stunts the growth of our young players, we waive him. It's 1 year.

For a one year contract, I couldn't care less even if it was 25M. Bigger the expiring, the better.

But hasbeen scorer turned into chucker, struggling to face the fact he no longer belongs in the league... there's a potential for blaming others and locker room problems.

What's the upside? Ticket sales in October? :dontknow:

You are right. Never thought of option to simply waive him.

why does everyone assume he would have taken only $2mil from us? he took that offer from his first coach he had a breakout year with. He may very well have tried to bluff Orlando and demand $8mil yr.

No thanks. We already have a ton of wings. I certainly wouldn't give him a multi year contract. We are actually going to have cap space next year so let's not waste it on bench players now.

I said 2 mil or so, but also, 8 mil isn't gonna hurt anyone on a 1 year deal either. So still absolutely no risk whatsoever.

But this thread is getting slightly de-railed.
