Do we have the rights to any players currently in Europe or elsewhere right now?
Other than the Fran. :noway:

In addition to Orlando having Jānis Timma's rights, as he is still a basketball player, Orlando still holds the rights to the one and only Fran Vázquez.

For those of you thinking this could be the year: On July 18, 2018, Vázquez signed a two-year deal with Tecnyconta Zaragoza of the Liga ACB.

Edit: now that Vázquez' career is essentially over, it is clear he was not NBA quality. Yes he was a good shot blocker, but his rebounding levels were positionally poor and he was a horrible scorer. On the CARMELO rankings, he would be classified as "scrub."
No wonder he was never a Magician.

Yeah he's one of the better stash guys we've had in awhile. Be nice if he comes over in the next couple years.

I would love for the Magic to bring him over. He would be a nice scorer off the bench.

Baskonia announced that the club parted ways with Latvian forward Janis Timma. The player signed a contract with Olympiacos Piraeus.

Timma was under a two-year deal with Baskonia but the club wanted to dump his contract (over 1M for 2018-2019). An agreement was reached with Olympiacos and the 26-year-old player will continue his career in Greece.

Timma would be owed more than one million in 2018-2019 by Baskonia a sum which will be now covered mostly by Olympiacos with the Basques paying a small part of it.

Olympiacos head coach David Blatt wanted Timma on the roster of his new team despite the signing of swingman Axel Toupane earlier this week. Timma is expected to play not only at his natural position of a small forward but also take some minutes as a “4” in the lineups of his new squad.

TImma is already styling an NBA-quality sleeve:

It's just Janis and Fran that are active.

Olympiakos just got David Blatt as head coach and we brought in some guys to freshen up the roster as Spanoulis and Printezis are on the decline.

Timma's on a very positive path with his career trajectory as he keeps going to better teams/leagues (Baskonia last year, and now OLY). He'll be on a potential Euroleague Final Four contender now. He's 26. Depending how the next year or two goes for him at OLY and for Latvia's national team, I still wouldn't discount the Magic not trying to bring him over depending on how our roster lays out. He's a much better athlete and player than what he was under the Grizzlies.

As for Fran, he's going to go down as one of the best shot blockers in ACB (maybe Euroleague, too) history. He's got plenty of hardware. He's 35, and with this newest deal/team he'll have likely played his entire career in Spain. Otis **** up by not doing the research.
