I know he's had his share of injuries this past year, but we all know hes a talented scorer that has a variety of moves like the effortless 3 and the floater. I feel like Ross's problem has always been focus and confidence but now that hes in a contract year, i think he's gonna put the league on notice.. **** about to be lit stay tuned yall

Not really, he’s pretty much just an athletic shooter. I’ve liked his defense since he’s been here though. But no I don’t think he’s gonna start expanding his offensive game at 27.

I do like him as a player. I hope he sticks around here long term actually. Seems to be a good vet.

I want to keep and extend him long term just on the fact that is the most vocal and pro orlando vet we have. He constantly post in social media and reaches out to players how much he loves playing for us. I havent seen that kind of dedication from Vuc, Evan, or even Ag the so called "vets"

I hope we keep him long term.

TRoss beating out Fournier for the starting SG role would be a massive upset, but huge for the team. Ross has the ability to be a legit 2 way player but unfortunately he is rather streaky.

Fournier is just steady. The guy will makes his 3s and give you 18 a game. He is very coachable and if we can play him at his natural position of SG, I think he will only get better.

Ross taking a leap would be awesome, but I am not sure I would hold my breath for it to happen.

Ross never proved to be one way player, let alone two.
Streaky ,not so great offense, inability to draw any fouls, inability to pass the ball at all ,career 42% FG, 1%above average 3 point shooting , 1,0 apg on 25 mpg. Medicore rebounder.

On defense, he has 108 defensive rating for career, on -1,1 DBPM. He is not terrible defender but not lockdown defender for sure.

In general i always questioned his work ethic, long before Orlando. You can't enter nba being athletic marvel yet so skinny, and in years of nba still having arms like you never lifted weight in your life. He simply has no muscles. Anywhere. Shoudlers, arms, chest , legs... I highly doubt he is 200 pounds , on 6'7 frame, he looks like skeleton.

My hope is that Ross shores up the wing depth. A 10 ppg season playing 70+ games would be quite good for him off of the Magic bench.

..

Unless he can become a consistent scorer, he is pretty much what he is.

Haha.... don't take this as an offense but more as a compliment....

But does anyone start reading a post and immediately think to themselves... "Oh.... this has to be Pepe" due to the wealth of stats that comes out in it. enough that i don't have to immediately go and start searching about player x's efficiencies etc.

haha... I just chuckle at these moments. Love having on here man... even the frictional moments. :-)

Developmental curves are functions that don't simply spike deep into a player's career. If there were some untapped potential, we'd have some evidence of it by now. I'd be happy if he can get back to the player he was when he was "underachieving" in Toronto as he hasn't really shot the three well since the trade.

He has the size and athleticism to excel as an NBA wing, but he lacks the physicality. That isn't going to change at this point. Still, if he had the motivation and someone to teach him the craft and guile of off-ball movement, there isn't really any reason why he couldn't have been Rip Hamilton. Again though, that should have happened by now. He is what he is.

I like Ross, but there really isn't any reason for him to be on this roster. He is an expiring contract that should be flipped if we can turn that into a useful piece going forward, but if we were going to make use of either Ross or Vucevic in that fashion, it probably would've happened by now.

Ross is who he is at this point. Same for our other young veterans, Vuc and Fournier.

My thoughts too. We may get lucky and catch him with "Contract Year" numbers this year. But he's lived up to his nick name of "Coin Toss" Ross.

Yeah i would rather just take the money. We are finally close to having a really well managed cap in a few years.

If ross turns it around it would be pretty great, but the odds tell me he will be a nice sf off the bench this season and then off to free agency.

He started last year ice cold from the field, but played really good defense. His shot slowly came along and he was playing well right before he got injured. He's a nice player to have and there's a clear void to fill for the Magic in terms of shooting. His ceiling is a 3&D guy who hits 45/38/80 splits. But, I don't anticipate for him to be more than a solid role player.

The Magic oddly have a decent rotation of SG's between Fournier, Ross, and Simmons.
