my freaking God, pretty safe to say that all shots are kids ,knowing it was gaming tournament.
Makes me sick. condolences to families, no parent should ever have to bury their child

Man, i'm from Europe, i'll never understand your weapon policy and relationship between people and weapons. Why da F normal person needs gun, let alone rifle? Most of this shooters are teens, teens all around the world are F-ed up and can't handle their problems, but with key difference, in USA, unlike anywhere else in modern world, they can buy guns and kill people. In June some kid was also busted for plotting mass murders in Florida, already had all set up . It's not hard to plot mass murder when you can take gun from your father, cousin, first neighbour , pretty much anywhere. Anywhere else in the world you can search whole street to find 1 gun.

I expect to find out this braindeadRetard is somebody "who friends didn't like" being between 15 and 19 years old.

That video is hard to listen to. You can see the red dot on the guy's clothes before the stream cuts.. he ended up dying.

And political views aside, the last few years alone has shown that anywhere you go in America, you can become a victim of a mass shooting. This shouldn't be the norm... even with policy changes I think we're just in too deep as a nation. Hopefully if and when I have kids, they won't experience this sort of news every week.

Another terrible situation.

Will the US ever get serious about gun control? The answer is no primarily because of money. I don’t know how those that continue to be responsible sleep at night.

i don't think it's about gun control anymore. gun violence seeped too far into the culture, and that takes much much longer to cure. this was really a hard listen, my condolences to everyone close.

There is no good modern excuse for allowing civilians to own firearms. If you want to have firing ranges or hunting retreats to get your kicks off as a hobby then fine. I see no issue with that. But this 2nd amendment crap about defending yourself against... I can’t even finish this rediculous statement.

You fools want a toy to hide your insecurity and give yourself a false sense of respect. Days like today are what you get for it. There is nothing to respect here.

Oh boy, this thread is going to be liberal agenda down everyones throat when it just happened instead of praying for the families of those lost. Now's not the time for politics. But there's going to be a lot of it. Pretty much every post here already.

Also, screw the tweet that said not to thank the first responders. Of course we should! They did their jobs which isn't easy! You thank the lady at the drive-thru at Burger King, you can thank Police Officers for doing something much more important!

When will we make it more difficult for mentally ill people to get weapons? That's all I care about.

You want to bring up liberals? Go ahead but get to the actual liberal issues. Liberals baby everyone and are WAY TOO worried about political correctness. We can't label anyone 'mentally ill' at a school without 100,000 pages of documented issues. F that. When a child is talking about shooting/killing people (or killing animals or maliciously hurting other kids), they need to begin being tracked.

Now, let's talk about republicans... they would be all for that... until you mention taking that child's right to buy guns later on in life.

Why do most people lack common sense? This is not a republican vs democrat issue. This is not a political issue. This is a common sense issue.

There are so many countries that allow gun ownership in Europe, lets please not act like it this isnt the case.

if people want to kill, they will find a way. take away guns, they use knives or care or bombs.

I hate that argument. While true, let's just legalize rocket launchers then, right? Why not? Why can't we agree that mentally ill people shouldn't own guns?

First responder comment was stupid. They're literally doing their job.. dumb tweet by that guy.

But what is your view on it then? Just pray and that's it? Sure, it can be part of the healing process, but if I saw my child or relative or friend lying on the ground from a mass shooting that could've been prevented, the last thing I'm going to do is pray and throw my arms up as if there is nothing that can be changed and just accept that this is my country.

I think that it doesn't have to be a liberal/conservative issue and it's not as cut and dry as guns are bad or good. There isn't and won't be a perfect answer to stop gun violence, and stopping that will enable other weapons to be used like tiderulz said, BUT the difference is that a car or knife can only do so much in many areas. A madman with a knife can be taken down by a security guard with a taser, a gunman is going to send everybody running and screaming away from him. A truck/car can do damage in high density areas/streets, but a car running into a school or building isn't a threat in most situations. Bombs are obviously scary, but again, there's a lot of trial and error in that and sometimes they don't work, or the culprit gets caught because they're being monitored because of what they're buying, etc.

It's just way too easy to kill people with guns, too easy to conceal, and can wipe out so many people. There has to be something done so that this isn't a daily occurrence. I don't think just wanting innocent people not to die from something like that is a liberal agenda.

Just to add, based on experience and training, any patient that comes into a trauma bay suffering from a gunshot wound compared to a knife wound is viewed as higher risk just based on the severity of the mechanism of injury and there is inherently higher risk for internal organ damage, blood loss, and as a result higher risk for morbidity, and mortality. SOUL's point that it's really easy to kill people with guns reigns true.

Guns are extremely dangerous. :nonono:

people will kill people doesnt mean we make it easier for them...

knives are not the same weapon as guns. a knife cant kill multiple people in seconds with the pull of a trigger.

and this self defense nonsense. How many times has a mass shooter been shot down by a civilian with a gun?? the last mass shooter who was stopped was by a man who had no gun.

If you give a child a dangerous toy he isnt prepared to handle then DONT give it. Unfortunately that is the current state of America

I have family jacksonville and this just sickens me.

Actually countries within EU don't allow any possession ( let alone carrying ) any type of automatic weapons , to get semi automatic or single shot weapons you have to pass tests and have good reason why you want to have one, in most countries you have to pass "mental" test and have no criminal record. Hell even self defense pepper spray can't be bigger than 75 grams and such "weapon" needs licence in France.

Again, it's possession, in most countries everywhere carrying isn't even optional for people who don't work on jobs where weapon is requested by law.

I strongly disagree with knife thing, it's impossible to commit mass murder with knife, in general it takes specific mindset to take a life using brutal force in close combat as they experience death in front of their eyes. Pulling trigger strips them any moral responsibility, they just open fire and to them it's like a game.

Most self made bombs turn into unexpected suicides for ones who attemps to make them.

As i said, i don't think that Americans are any more violent than other people, difference is availability. Lot of people were in situation where they snapped and would do something crazy if they had handweapon, but they don't, and in fist fight i'll take broken nose or glass in head over gun wound any time.
