Kobi Simmons

Magic should cut Iwundu who will be 24 and doesnt look like a NBA player at all. Kobi Simmons is only 21 years old and a 6'5 pg/sg who can be an instant offense player off the bench for us. With Bamba, Isaac, AG and Birch protecting the rim we can hide him in defense. He is a nice young combo guard prospect who will be the 2nd youngest player behind Bamba.

Iwundu is on the books for 1.4M. Waving him would be a dead-cap loss. I cannot see that happening for anything less than a veteran player if the Magic is making a playoff run.

Lets consider how young the Magic already is: Vučević was born in the 90s and is the 4th oldest Magician.

Current Magicians younger than Iwundu: Martin, Gordon, Briscoe, Frazier, Isaac, and Bamba.

As an aside: let's recall that Simmons was a horrible jump shooter last year. As a so-called PG, his assist / TO line was poor. He was not a good rebounder. Really, this kid is not ready for the NBA an waiving Iwundu for another G-league level talent is not an outcome I would expect.

Simmons was with the Grizzlies G-League last season. He's is what you're stating. I even recalled his days in college where he didn't have enough skills set to be a reliable NBA player. Outside of being a slasher, that's all his game amounts to. Like Iwundu, he's the worse version of Evan Turner. He was a wasted pick by the Magic.

I'm interested why Magic didn't try to make some play for Shake Milton, he fits their base - long athletic, actually can play PG and shoots well from outside,at least did in college. Despite 3 years at college he is still 21.
Behind Simmons, Fultz and TJM he won't get any PT for 6ers.

Instead of drafting Justin Jackson we should have drafted Milton or Melton. Also, I cant believe last draft we traded away so many picks we could have had Jordan Bell, Semi and Frank Mason. Imagine instead of Mo, Aaron Afflalo and Mack we had Bell, Semi and Mason.
