Vuc, Ross, OKC pick for Butler and Tyus Jones. If Butler walks we would still have a young asset to show for it. Obviously, they will probably get offered something better but that is the most id consider.

I like his competitiveness, and he's obviously a very good player, but he has rubbed me the wrong way these past couple years. I'm not sure I'd want him, and that's just in a general sense, before we even start talking about trade scenarios and his free agency. It seems like he has a legit gripe with Wiggins and Towns, but it also seems like he spends more time whining about it than trying to lead them. Maybe that's not fair to him and maybe they're just bonehead kids that will never allow themselves to be led, I don't know.
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.

- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.

Terrible time for the Wolves to trade Butler with so many guys I eligible until December.

I'd look into Vuc/Simmons. I heard Minny wanted to get rid of Dieng with Butler, I don't see that as possible.

Rather tank for Barrett, Reddish, Little or Langford and sign a PG next year. Butler will leave and we can get a late 1st for Vuc by trade deadline or two second round picks.

I would rather pass and not trade for a player who will command a big contract at the age of 30 next summer.

I don't think we'll be trading for Butler unless it's for Fournier/Simmons. That seems like the only package that would give us a small chance to turn a rental into a long term signing without risking any of BIG. To convince Butler to stay we'd have to sign a player like Kemba to play with him and that can only happen if we create cap space.

I actually woudnt
but
Vuc,Moz,Evan+optionally Birch(but it works without him too)or Iwundu

Is D’Angelo Russell a good fit? If so, what would you give to Minnesota in a 3-team Butler deal?

People laugh about that offer but that's the kind of deal the TWolves will probably get. I think Teague is more gettable than Jones.

Jimmy Butler is a stud and the type of player we would love to have here but he has already made up his mind for where he wants to go next summer. I know were are hungering for a star but did you not learn enough from the Ibaka trade? Unless its for Fournier, Vuc, and a highly protected 1st, dont even think about it.

WEltman isnt RH. He isnt going to pull some knee jerk reaction. Also AG, Isaac, and Bamba are untouchables.

I would trade for butler if it only cost us Fournier, vooch and a filler. I think getting butler would put us in the playoffs and I think that is more important than another lotto pick this year. Our young guys need to see what playoff basketball is like and gain valuable experience. Plus you never know maybe he falls in love with Orlando and resigns.

I would probably daydream about this if he didn't specifically request the biggest markets in the league (whose on court product isn't good), so like most have said it's not even worth talking about.

I do think Bamba could lure someone here eventually, everyone loves that guy.

Orlando would be a third team in any such deal to help facilitate a trade to one of his requested clubs. Send a promising young PG (SGA perhaps?) and picks back to Orlando and I’m willing to dicsuss options around anyone outside of Isaac and Bamba.

Here's my almost 2 hours of constructing a three-way trade between LAC-MIN-ORL..

LAC side:
Spoiler:
LAC trades:
Danilo Gallinari
Montrezl Harrell
Luc Mbah a Moute
Marcin Gortat
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
LAC 2nd

LAC receives:
Jimmy Butler
Nikola Vucevic
Gorgui Dieng
Jarell Martin
Jerian Grant

Why:
LAC has many blessings to count in this deal. They're giving up Shai and his recent two 2nd's cost, and taking on Jimmy's pricy extension, but look at the other side of the deal for them.
- Besides the major acquisition of All-Star Jimmy Butler, the Clippers are upgrading very well from Gortat to Vucevic, who is cheaper, much younger, and spaces out the floor better than Gortat. Advanced stats like Vooch as well.
- They also retain Tobias for the season, while fortifying the 4 and 5 even further with a high quality veteran in Gorgui Dieng and a proven rotational piece in Jarell Martin.
- They're knocking away salary in their next offseason for a run at Kawhi. This is paid back by keeping Gorgui Dieng one season longer than LAC would want for their salary cap, but to have the bird rights(/cap hold) and a full season of chemistry from the likes of Tobias, Vucevic, Beverley, Marjanovic, and Martin is more useful than another guaranteed season of Montrezl and Gallinari. Even Gortat, a piece that would be useful to try and retain, would be harder to stomach when he is over 30 and holding a bigger cap hold than Vucevic would. Now LAC can sign Kawhi while trying to finagle keeping one or two of Tobias, Bev's, and Vooch's bird rights/cap holds. And if they have to go crazy on renouncing every cap hold, and stretching Gorgui, then that's still all the more cap space to throw a respectable offer at Tobias, Vucevic, Beverley where each of which would be a lot more open to it after having played one full season with Jimmy Butler and LAC.
- With how obvious it is that LAC is going to be a star-centered team again, you have to really question how much growth and opportunity you're going to give to a player like Shai. When you can nab Butler right now, you know him and Doc Rivers will prefer slotting Beverley in there next to him. And proven vet Teodosic is right there. And proven clutch time, closing time, Lou Williams is there too. And to top it all off, Jerian Grant is a young PG who could easily replicate the production you would expect rookie Shai to contribute this season as well.

LAC lineup:
Beverley / Teodosic / Jerian
Lou Will / Jerome / Sindarius
Butler / Tobias / Wesley
Tobias / Dieng / Jarell
Vucevic / Dieng / Marjanovic

Note: Butler goes back down to his natural SG position when Kawhi joins as the starting SF! Lou Will goes back to being 6th Man.
Or play big already, and put Butler, Tobias, and Dieng as the starting 2, 3, and 4!

MIN side:
Spoiler:
MIN trades:
Jimmy Butler
Gorgui Dieng
Keita Bates-Diop

MIN receives:
Jonathon Simmons
Terrence Ross
BRK 2nd (via ORL)
ORL 2nd
D.J. Augustin
Montrezl Harrell

Why:
If you're on the boat for getting value out of Jimmy Butler before he walks away, then this is a great haul.
- The biggest asset MIN receives is cap space. By dumping Butler's super-max and Gorgui's 3 years left at an average of 16.2 million per year, they're only obliged to pay Montrezl Harrell 6 million for a 2nd and final year, and DJ Augustin 7.25 million for a 2nd and final year.
- In the meantime, MIN gets two very quality wings in Terrence Ross and Jonathon Simmons. Simmons would be a player who actually outplays his value of 6 million and entices MIN to guarantee the non-guaranteed 5.7 million due to him the next season as well. Simms was one of the best FA deals of his summer.
- Two high value 2nd rounders, appearing in the 30's or 40's.

MIN Lineup:
Teague / Tyus / DJ
Ross / Simms / Okogie
Wiggins / Ross / Deng
Taj / Harrell / Tolliver / Patton
KAT / Patton / Tolliver

Note: Lot of cap space for more to come.

ORL side:
ORL trades:
Nikola Vucevic
Terrence Ross
D.J. Augustin
Jarell Martin
Jerian Grant
Jonathon Simmons
BRK 2nd
ORL 2nd

ORL receives:
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
Marcin Gortat
Keita Bates-Diop
Danilo Gallinari
Luc Mbah a Moute
LAC 2nd

Why:
- I have this deal as two 2nds, Simmons, and Vooch for Shai Gilgeous Alexander, Marcin Gortat, Keita Bates-Diop & one 2nd, and "losing cap space for 2 years". I'm on the fence of accepting this deal as an ORL fan. I personally do it because I really liked Shai in the last draft as the potential future PG for ORL. But how the ORL FO sees Shai is the fulcrum of this whole deal, and the millions ORL is eating in year two of this trade also frankly demands that LAC or MIN add a 2nd rounder or two in the overall deal towards ORL's way. "Losing cap space for 2 years" is not as bad as it seems for ORL though, because they still have Mozgov on the books anyways. It's that third year when ORL has nothing but rookie-scaled contracts and Aaron Gordon on the books for the summer free agency shopping, and that's still safe here. Hopefully Fournier is also part of that summer's new roster on a discounted deal that's a couple million or so off his market demand! Make some room for a Star to help you & B.I.G. out, Evan!
- I did Vooch for Gortat as a basically even swap, because while Vooch & Fournier gave ORL a discount once, I believe Vooch will still be too wanted around the league to be kept for a good value in his new contract. This is where Gortat, a known fan of ORL, and a quality C "over the 30 hill" comes in and is much more reasonably likely to accept ORL's one year deal this summer, with a much cheaper multi-year deal in 2 summers from now (maybe 9 mil per for 3 seasons?). Gortat is the C who can teach and cede minutes to Bamba (keeping Gortat's mileage lighter). Vooch is too good for that though, and if he doesn't resign for something like 12 mil or less again, then it won't make sense to have so much money in two great C's (Bamba and Vooch). This C swap, and the millions ORL saves LAC this summer, is why LAC should give up one or two 2nd rounders.
- Losing Simms and two 2nd's hurt. They are very cost-effective roster pieces, and Simms plays with a lot of heart and hustle. But when you look at Shai, Keita & a 2nd, you're getting better value for improving your youth and potential, and when you look at Danilo, Luc, and Gortat, you're getting quality veteran pieces for what could be a very surprising ORL run in the Leastern Conference. And it's been proven that growing youngsters in winning environments instead of losing ones is extremely valuable for their development.

ORL Lineup:
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander / Briscoe
Evan Fournier / Frazier / Iwundu
Aaron Gordon / Gallinari / Keita
Jonathan Isaac / Luc / Isaac
Mo Bamba / Gortat / Khem

Note: I see Fournier, Gortat, and most of the rookie-scaled youngsters on this roster for many years together. There's also cap space and assets for a star or two down the line. Win-win.

First, trades are usually never this big and contain this many assets (even in a 3 team deal).

Secondly, Jimmy Butler is on a 1 year deal and LAC can just sign him if minnesota doesn’t take a lesser package.

The bidding war between BKN, NY, and LAC wouldn’t cost the amount you proposed. In other words, they wouldn’t need to trade valuable rookies and good contracts to make a deal.
