This one stings a bit. Another NBA franchise winning a title before the magic do. Hopefully one day.....

I feel like the Magic could have given GS a run in the finals with no KD and no Klay. I'm not that impressed with Toronto.

Something about Toronto winning has me even more excited for next season.

Injuries are part of the game. All those years of deep playoff runs eventually wear down the body. GS has also benefited from opponents injuries during their run, Cle was ussually injured, and last year Hou was taking them down until Paul got hurt, injuries are part of it, it happens.

Oh for sure. And we weren't getting through Philly or Milwaukee. But, man, GS ran Quinn Cook, Something McKinney, Jonas Jerebko, Draymond Green, and Shaun Livingston to start the 4th in the finals. I feel like our crappy bench this year could have outplayed that line-up.

Raptors actually lost the lead against that group. They should have gone up 7+ before Kerr got a time out in.

It kind of feels like the Warriors dynasty is over.

I'm sure a lot of teams will be knocking on Thompson's door in free agency.

Damn right!

I was unsure about how I'd feel about Ibaka winning, since he was such a disappointment here. Damn that was a stupid trade, lol. But his play here fell short of even my modest expectations. That being said, in the end he seems like a good dude (love the chef vids), so good for him that he can call himself champion. He even made a pretty solid impact in the series off the bench.

Kawhi is really good, but I'm a little salty that this Raptors team won. They're good but I don't think they're championship good. Sometimes things just come together for you I guess. Not that I hate seeing the Warriors lose, don't get me wrong.

Congratulations to the Raps.

That said, I’ve always argued that context matters in sport so let’s hope history remembers this context as it does others.

Would the Magic have an NBA championship if, in 2009, Kobe had missed all by 10 minutes of one game and Pau had missed a game plus a crucial fourth quarter? I think the answer is a resounding yes.

So whilst it’s nice to see another team win etc, the reality is that luck yet again plays the biggest role in determining the outcome - the Warriors had terrible luck with injury and the Raptors didn’t. That’s why the Raptors won, not because they’re a better team than Golden State.

Lol, lets be real here, the magic would still be underdogs. Even if the magic somehow got past Tor, they wouldn't get past the sixers or the bucks. Congrats Tor.

Wow, klay tore his ACL. Sad situation for GSW. They may be a lottery team.

Sucks for Klay with the 3rd team snub and now this injury, but he should still get a nice contract. Depending on what KD does, I don't think it would be the worst thing in the world for the Warriors to draft top 10, then run it back again.

Congrats to Raptors but MY GOD
- Klay ACL tear
- Cousins torn quad, torn achillie
- Durant torn achillie

Even bench player Looney has torn pack

I have never seen team so destroyed by injuries in finals, even Cavs in 2015 had more healthy bodies.

Very true might be a blessing in disguise. But I have never seen a team suffer so much.

Good work Raps! They hung in there and got a well deserved championship. Sucks for GSW, Klay and KD that they all had to go down like that, but it's part of the game.

Also, Kawhi is goat right now, so it wouldn't have felt right if he didn't win it.

Wonder if the Warriors still offer KD and Thompson max contracts for 5 years?

Just reading that and ACL is worse than a Achilles injury.

That can't be right.. only a few players have come back to a high level after tearing an Achilles. Dominique was still beastly, but a lot of other guys either just couldn't play anymore or had a few average years and faded. I think Durant is at such a high level that he can still be all-star level, but not really at the level we've seen him in the past few years.

Tons of players (especially guards) have torn their ACLs and been able to play solid-good-great depending on their skill levels.

Spencer Dinwiddie
Lou Williams
Zach LaVine (solid this last year)
Ricky Rubio
Kyle Lowry
Baron Davis
Danny Manning
Tim Hardaway Jr.
