Yep they bled the Lakers dry...good job Pels! I'm going to laugh when KD returns to warriors, kemba stays in Charlotte, Kawhi goes to the clippers, and Butler joing Kyrie in Brooklyn. Lakers get swept in first round and then Davis leaves for Knicks or Nets. That would be ultimate karma for the shaq, gasol, dwight and now AD stealing organization that continues to get away with tampering.

Did they?

Davis is amazing but what has he been able to lead his team to?

They sold the farm to get him and Lebron isn’t getting younger.

If Kawhi signs there then I change my tune entirely. But I’m not ready to declare a new Dynasty for the Lakers.

Bad news that AD is going to to Lakers but I'm glad it is over I didn't want that to hold off other teams from trading or FAs from signing. I'm hoping Kawhi doesn't decide to join that LA team, that would be to much of a superteam.

I got the Lakers vs Raptors next year in the NBA finals. The pelicans should be improved assuming guys stay healthy. Anthony Davis is a top 10 player but the Pelicans can replace AD with the overhaul they just got from the Lakers. If 3 players each improve on the Pelicans those 3 guys can make up for the loss/ exceed the loss of AD.

A lot of other fan bases sure are enamored with the thought of us trading away Bamba. He seems to always be a go to name in trade scenarios..

well at least AD went to WC - he would likely have added a guaranteed playoff team to the east equation if NY or BRK got him or created a power house in Boston

No depth, no outside scoring, no back court, 3 years of no picks, and Lebron at 35 years old coming off an injury. I think the Pelicans won that trade.

Yep. It isn't about it becoming a dynasty, but they don't make them build like other teams. Any other team has to go through dry times and draft well and do the work but they just get assistance. They target some other team's player while still under contract but there aren't any restrictions for them. They get gifted stars because they get ratings and it just is what it is.

Well, it has been 16 years since and after the two years, it has been like it never happened. No lingering effects. I still remember the loud pop in the gym as everyone from all the basketball courts musta heard it.

Davis is good but if he was as good as people think he is, then why couldn't he lead the Pelicans to victories. Because, he has had some solid teams around him.

The NBA did gift the Lakers with the 4th pick in the draft to help facilitate this trade.

Reportedly, Pels got:
- 2019 unprotected 1st round pick
- 2021 protected (or if it's pick 8-30, it'll be unprotected in 2022)
- 2023 right to swap
- 2024 unprotected with right to defer to 2025

This has potential to be Nets-like trade if things don't go right for LA.

I think the collection of picks is probably more interesting than the players. Ball is garbage until further notice, Hart is whatever. Ingram is interesting, but I do wonder about him. It's annoying that the Lakers got their way, as usual, but I don't think it's a bad trade for the Pels at all.
