Yes, players go through ups and downs and Fournier is particularly subject to that...

BUT.

In 2 preseason games against NBA competition he has 23 shots, 3!! made baskets, 4 turnovers and 0 free throws attempted. That isn't just bad. That is horrific. That goes beyond a slump. The man is shooting under 15% against NBA competition - I don't even know what to say about that. Taking a quick look back at last year, Evan shot under 20% in ONE game the entire year -- again, I understand all of the appropriate caveats about the preseason etc -- but something does not look right. Here is hoping that changes.

Fournier is adjusting from SF to SG, and the preseason exists to create such an adjustment.

It's preseason and it's only been 3 games. He's had some ok looks shot just isn't falling.

I giggled when i looked up at your name to see who wrote this. goes hand in hand.

He loves Orlando and he loves Vuc. I don't blame him for trying to kill his trade value.

Perhaps, players don't go all out in preseason for risk of injury. I wait til season starts before panicking.

It seems like in the past several years for the Magic, a player having a bad preseason meant that he was going to have a bad season.

Evan will bounce back. Im not worried about it.

It's early, but in previous years a lot of the offense has been geared towards getting Evan good looks. I haven't seen that as much this pre-season. It's a bit more equal opportunity with Vucevic and Gordon getting most of the good looks.

Also, he usually goes through a couple of down periods a season so maybe he's getting this one out of the way early.

all i know is that i'm tired of him being on the team...and that i'm low-key hoping this slump convinces management to finally trade him while we can

New position/role. There’s no way for him to adjust in the offseason without playing. He needs minutes to get comfortable but he’ll turn the corner. He’s also really moving away from the ball, much more than I’ve ever seen and similar to how JJ is being used. I’m sure that takes time to adjust to.

He should just say he's focused on using his length for defense. Seems to work for the front office.

I Kind of feel the way some do about Vuc towards Evan. I really just want him gone.
I'd trade him and an unprotected pick to MIN for Butler right now.
I don't care if Butler leaves, I'd enjoy 1 year of him and 40 wins.
