I know we have Grant and Briscoe backing up DJ but with the Clippers releasing Evans is anybody up for taking a chance with him? Even if the Magic don't "marry" him, can they date him? Side piece? Lol. Seems like a Clifford type of backup.

I remember how high so many of us were on Evans in the 2017 draft threads. He's undersized but I really thought he would have shown more in the league by now. He had some very impressive stats coming out of OK state. I wouldn't mind taking a flyer on him and letting him develop in Lakeland for season or two.

He just doesn't have the style of game to allow him to overcome his physical limitations. He struggled mightily against tougher competition in college and now he is facing nothing but superior athletes. I'm not going to write him off completely, but I think the probability of him every becoming a productive NBA player is remote.

I was so high on him. :(

But let's put it in perspective. Was hoping he'd reach us in Round 2. I thought he had the chance to be successful in a way that Chris Paul has been successful. I'm with you... I'd take a flyer on him at Lakeland.

I wanted him last year.

If The Magic did not have Briscoe, I would take a chance on him.
