WHen will we learn

Post#1 » by OrlMagic05 » Sat Nov 3, 2018 1:50 pm

These past 6 years have been extremely rough! WHen will they learn to just TANK! We have been 1 pick away for the past 4 years and it’s been depressing to see guys like embiid, porzingis, fox, and none luka show star potential and us stuck with guys that clearly aren’t stars.

Can we finally tank?

Looks like we're well on our way now, I just hope they don't screw it up.

You can't cheat a rebuild (which is what they have been trying to do), we need to tank.

Vuc is on the way out. Clifford talks with gushing enthusiasm for Bamba.

The writing is on the wall.

That plus recent changes in management and coaching have us very close to fully clearing out the Henny era.

BIG will get heavy minutes by seasons end. That will be great for our short term (tank) and long term (decelopment) goals.

The plan is clear and coming together. It isn’t the Day 1 firesale so many fans want but I agree with exploring what you have for a year before throwing everything away.

Isn't that what we did last year? Or is that what you meant

Yes, that is what I meant.

With the evaluation year over we already replaced the coach and I expect a lot of change during the next year.

I'm telling you... watch out for Vuc resigning for a team friendly deal.

The vets have plateaued, Vuc is not getting better and it is extremely close to the time the same can be said for Evan and later AG.

The young guys are not only long term projects but they are unentertaining offensively inept long term projects.

The coach isn't bringing any new or fresh ideas to the table as an experienced coach who hasn't experienced winning(besides in his assistant coach stint here)

We won't make the playoffs so the BIG 3 in Bamba, Isaac and Gordon will only get RS experience and be only as good as Vuc and Evan(regular season one hit wonders)

and the cycle will continue recycling same ol' coaches that are related to our organization, trading prospects who will only try harder elsewhere because they were put into a position to fail here and retreading GMs from middling organizations.

The lone constant: Martins.

It's funny how the anti tankers are starting to dwindle away. How's the impressive wins in the past working out for this team?

I was always tank supporter but new lottery order does not give me fate that tanking means anything any more.
Worst record has 48% chance to draft 5th.
In past worst record was basically locked to draft between 1 and 3.

I hate tanking, make a bold trade for a LEADER for this team...Beal, McCollum, Kemba, anybody that can put the little round thing in the hoop on occasion.

I think the new tanking will be better for us.

What's been our number 1 complaint? We could never be THE worst team. Now the odds are better for the teams like us too inept to do it correctly.

We dont have any players that can land us any of those players.

I hate us losing all the time but it is the best thing for this team in the long term. If only we tanked properly in the last few years and not half tanked getting us 4th- 6th pick every year instead of pick 1-3

I think we do, bigger stars have been traded for far less.

Usually because when a star is traded it's because he wants out and everyone knows it, never say never.....

However, I think our best bet is to tank this season.

i just thought of the temerity martins had when he solved all of our problems by firing the guy he was constantly overstepping. yep nothing wrong with me, he shouldn't have done what I told him to. let me try something else.

What wins? What win-now style moves besides the Oladipo for Ibaka have we made? How about how we literally gave Elfrid away last season and started DJ? Is that a win-now move? Seems closer to a tank move to me.

What I wanna know is when the Magic are gonna stop being lazy and start actually taking risks and making moves to change stuff up.

Speaking of lazy, tanking is lazy, and the Sixers are the only team to have pulled it off recently. All the other top teams in the league were trying to win, look at every single one besides the Sixers.

I don’t ever think the Magic tank, this team has enough talent and pride to not do that. But they just aren’t a good combination of players together, and haven’t been since the Dwight days. Once again it’s as obvious as a flood light that Nik Vucevic is the best player on this squad. I’m afraid Aaron Gordon and Fournier still have the same problem. They look for their own stats and are both incredibly inconsistent. I think it’s time to truly change the makeup of this team too to bottom through the draft and trades. We can get some quality for Gordon and Fournier in a package. I’d love Kemba or McCollum. Defensively we have some potential here with Bamba and Issac. We need a couple of consistent, talented offensive players badly. I’m actually ok with keeping Vucevic until Bamba is ready to start, and to me that’s a year away at minimum. Vuc with Kemba Walker at least gets us out of our dead last on offense category. Draft a good shooting guard prospect in the draft and we at least have a fresh base to start with.
You look confused...let me fill you in.
