First off, last nights win against Philly showed me for the first time in many years that maybe, just maybe the right track for this team is in sight. This team fights and makes big plays. That’s a very good sign.

But the last few minute of that game highlighted for me what I’ve been saying for 3 years. Evan Fournier has GOT TO GO! I challenge people to watch him play and see how his instincts usually go. When he gets the ball these are how things normally play out.

1. He immediately looks for his own shot.
2. If he can’t shoot he tries to drive.
3. If he can’t drive he dribbles around aimlessly.
4. He passes the ball.

I honestly have always just seen a selfish offensive player, and last night that selfishness resulted in several bad shots, including a 28 foot 3 pointer and an air ball 3 pointer in crunch time. His defense is non mentionable because he doesn’t scare anyone on that side of the floor. He shows nothing in leadership ability.

I’m not saying he’s a bad player because he’s hit some clutch shots in his career, but the mistakes far outweigh the buzzer beaters. To me the Magic’s offense is so much better when he’s not on the floor. I think Ross or Simmons should be starting for this team. I don’t think you lose much when you replace smarts with talent on the floor and both those guys can keep this team playing better than Fournier can.

Simmons is a poor man's Fournier... he basically plays the same way, but is a worse shooter, driver and passer. If you're not happy with Fournier there's no way you're going to be happy with Simmons in his place.

Inverting the comments of Fournier and Simmons, Ross has been a game-winning player for this team. Locking him in to a long-term role as a 6th man could be a real priority for this team.

TRoss and EF would be epic 6th 7th men off the bench on a 2-5th seed playoff team. I'd hang tight with both and really really do whatever needed to get Reddish, Barrett or Little.

I honestly will trade evan for any contract that isn't worse than his.

I've been proposing we take on a contract that's more expensive but a year shorter for a while (Parsons). Last season, I also proposed Fournier for joakim Noah and a1st but people did not like that

but you are. Evan has definitely had issues this year with his shooting, and I really wonder if he should move back to SF where he was doing much better the past 2 years. On the plus side, he has bought into Clifford's offensive vision and is 2nd on the team in assists and 6th in the NBA for SG's with assists.

The fact that you mention Simmons starting over him, to me, negates any point you were trying to make. Simmons this year is one of the worst players in the league.
This Org. put their money behind Evan to be one of the top players on this team, so I don't have a problem with the way you laid his ball selections out.
Evan has owned up to shooting like crap more than once in the past weeks. I expect him to get back on track.

I'll give him 10 more games before I say you are correct, because if he was hitting his averages, we'd probably have 2 more wins and we'd all be only crapping on DJ.

That would require trading Vuc and Evan, to get less wins.

That air ball he took from almost 30 feet out in crunch time with like 10 seconds left on the clock was mind blowing. I couldn't believe what I had just seen.

I think Evan would be a decent 4th or 5th best player on a playoff team. The problem is he plays like feels he is the go to guy on the team. When he plays within the fabric of the team and looks to move the ball and attack the basket and only shoot open jumpers he actually does pretty good. However, that just doesn't happen enough. Also, I understand (per Josh Robbins) that he is playing hurt right now so that could definitely be impacting things. Look, to be clear, I'm not a huge Evan fan but there is no way we are moving that contract so we gotta figure out a way to maximize the good things he does and minimize his crappyness.
