Now the remaining teams are trying to give them more money to stay… that’ll make for a great conference.

If they leave there isn’t really a need for UCF to join the BIG12. American will be a better conference. I’d really say the BIG12 will just permanently disband. See if American can pick up a few more teams.

There's a huge reason. Millions of reasons in fact. Money. Lots of it.

The Big 12's TV contract pays around $40M per team annually and runs through 2025. The AAC's TV contract pays out about 7M per team annually.

If Oklahoma and Texas leave before 2025 television contract is up, which I feel is a near certainty because both schools will want to avoid four lame duck seasons, then the Big 12 will need to replace those teams to continue to get that $40M through 2025.

UCF should be doing everything in their power to replace Texas and/or Oklahoma even if its just for one season. Just one season under the existing Big 12 television contract would give UCF literally the equivalent almost 6 seasons worth of American television revenue.

Big 12 is a better brand name…. If we can leave USF behind it’d be even better.

Yup. Plus if other AAC teams (i.e. Cinci) jump to it and UCF is left out (hard to see that happening, but it's possible), the AAC then takes a step back in quality.

If Big12 is adding teams, UCF needs to be one of those teams. Or hope that another P5 conference like the ACC or Big 10 comes knocking (both seem far less likely).

Big 12 sent ESPN a cease and desist today…. Wow.

Also, rumor is they had AAC trying to poach teams which is laughable.

Isn't the current rumor that ESPN was trying to encourage a few of the remaining Big XII teams to join the American? Essentially ushering the AAC into a P5 conference and killing the B12? I heard that it would be beneficial to ESPN because a) they wouldn't have to pay the Big XII and b) ESPN is in contract with the SEC, American, and the ACC. They'd essentially own 3 out of 5 of the P5 conferences?

Killing the big 12 imo would be a terrible option. ESPN is out to save money and add content while hurting fox.

I hope so. Sucks for Tacko that he's a pro in the wrong decade, lol. He would've thrived in the 90s.

Honestly i'm not too worried about it. Thompson has felt like the guy who should've emerged for a couple seasons now. I am curious what the reason is. i wonder if he just saw the level of competition and decided to bounce. With MAR and Bowser transfering in, and Good and Richardson, that's a lot of competition, without even factoring in Coles and Harvey. That's six guys battling for reps without Thompson.

I think we'll be fine.

SpaceX was the dream, but was never gonna happen, haha.

3MG isn't too bad. Pretty generic sounding name. Hopefully it's just "3MG Stadium" and not "3MG Roofing Stadium".

There’s zero reason space x needs to advertise on a stadium…
