Welcome to the coaches hot seat (under pressure, not at risk of being fired):

Pruitt-UT
Taggert- FSU
Strong- USF

Each coach had a less than inspiring start to 2019.

I wonder what this means for Georgia State and Wyoming now. Do they turn into a powerhouse or are their wins more of just 1 great night?

Georgia State was 2-10 last year. I think they have a great location and is a program to watch that could rise over the years but right now i'd chalk that up as just a single big victory, and is more about the dumpster fire that is Tennessee than it is about Georgia State.

Wyoming has been fairly decent the last 3 years (8 wins in 2016 & 2017, only 6 wins last year). Missouri was picked to finish 3rd in the SEC East, so it's a little surprising, until you realize the SEC East is really ugly outside Georgia and Florida.

Both just had good nights, but always good to see the almighty SEC lose to Non-P5 teams.

I've been thinking about this during the Notre Dame vs Louisville game today and that is what if UCF and Notre Dame could have scheduled a game vs each other. I'm looking at some of Notre Dame opponents this year(New Mexico, Bowling Green and a damaged/ rebuilding/ down, etc USC trojans). Us and Notre Dame get criticized by certain people by our schedule and if us 2 played each other its boosts the schedule of both teams. We get Brandon Wimbush from them. I view Us and Notre Dame kinda like friends.

good luck with that. They want all their football revenue. Hence being in the ACC in every sport except football. I'm surprised the ACC let them do that. Not like they bring a lot from the basketball side.

ACC teams know the value of bringing ND to campus. Ticket sales for all the other sports benefit.

Curious how the QB rotation will shake out this week in Boca.

Wimbush got 6 drives and Gabriel got 3 in the first half of the opener.

I thought Gabriel looked like the better passer, but this is a delicate situation.

Please no more playing 2 QB'S. Play 1 QB and be fully committed to him. It was fine for Florida A&M. But if we play 2 QB'S again its going to continue a QB controversy. Florida Atlantic didn't get blown out quite as bad at Ohio State a top 10 team for sure and so now Florida Atlantic will be more comfortable playing at home. We can get away from certain things here and there at home but anytime we go to play on the road, We better be ready.

Disagree about the two qbs seeing playing time.

DG is obviously the future while Wimbush has to still prove that he can master the offense well enough to lead this team.

BW missed some throws, but the missed intermediary throws are the ones that are bothersome as they are drive killers.

Eventually things will be sorted out, but DG needs the reps as often as possible to prepare him for the future.

I heard a rumor that Gabriel is starting and it’s because of reasons unrelated to Wimbush’s play. Anyone else hear this?

Nice win. UCF -10.5 was some of the easiest money ever made.

Heupel after the game said Wimbush was injured, but I’m still hard to pressed to see a scenario outside of injury where Wimbush sees the field again for UCF.

Gotta figure Gabriel is going to be the starter moving forward and Darriel Mack should be ready for action by conference play.

It's crazy how stacked UCF is at QB. You gotta start thinking some of these guys will be looking to transfer. With MM possibly coming back next year, Mack being healthy DG and QJ. All of those guys could potentially be starters this year.

UCF also has a pretty good 3* QB commit named Mike Wright coming out of Atlanta that's joining the team next year as well.

These things tend to have a way of working themselves out. Realistically, Milton probably won't make it back and Quadry is probably not a starting caliber player.

Regardless, it's a good/great problem to have a lot of talent at the QB spot.

They still play 5 ACC games a year. Like it or not, Notre Dame is a brand which sells tickets like few else whether they are good or bad. Those 5 games a year bring a lot of revenue to lesser programs in the conference.

Gabriel is going to be a great player for us in the long run.
