No one's fault. Those sort of hits happen all the time. Milton just got supremely unlucky about where his knee was when he got hit. Could have happened to anyone on the team.

I agree. People second guessing and blaming the tackler are speaking from emotion, which is understandable but it's just an unfortunate aspect of the game. Injuries happen, and sometimes they're horrific.

Prayers to KZ and his family. At this point I'm just hoping he can walk again. After we learn more we can start wondering if we'll ever see him play again. Any conjecture beyond that is too early imo.

As for Memphis in the CCG, they're a much different team on the road this year. Hopefully Mack has a great week in practice, I imagine the playbook will be adjusted a bit to fit his strengths a little better, but I think he's solid and we have a great chance.

BTW, wears leis next week for KZ.

The stuff I've heard on the extent of Milton's injury is extremely grim. This wasn't a run of the mill broken leg or torn ACL.

This was on the Teddy Bridgewater/Zach Miller level. It would be fortunate if he ever plays again.

UCF quarterback McKenzie Milton’s family announced he is recovering after successful surgery on his right leg after suffering a devastating injury in the first half of the Knights’ win over USF Friday.

Feel so bad for him. I figure we won't hear anything concrete for days.

Tulane won today so aren't we supposed to play Tulane?

Unless they are using both teams overall record as the tiebreaker?

Memphis overall record is 8 wins/ 4 losses
Tulane overall record is 6 wins/ 6 lossses

Maybe when 2 teams overall record is tied than they use the conference or divsion record as the tiebraker. Or when 2 teams tie as their conference record than they use their overall record? I think the proper way to handle this is Tulane owns the tiebreaker over Memphis by beating them earlier in the year so I feel Tulane should get it over Memphis.

Memphis is the worst draw for us, Everybody aware of our 2 matchups with them last year and 1 matchup this year? We have a tough matchup with Memphis.

Wasn’t the west division a three way tie?

Three-way tie, but Memphis won the head to head matchup against both Houston and Tulane.

I'm assuming the emergency surgery means he had artery corruption cutting off circulation?

Man, it makes me absolutely sick to my stomach. As an alumnus who loves UCF so much, know how much Milton has done for both the football program and the institution as a whole... it's very tough to think that he may have been in danger of losing a leg. Hate it. I hope and pray he's able to make a full recovery.

Bigger than football, I just want to see the young man have full use of his leg again. Awful injury with a long recovery. Ohana

Tulane beat Memphis
Memphis beat Houston

Memphis never beat Tulane this year.

If we play 1 on 1 and the score is tied after time expires and I beat you 4 times and you beat 3 times, I win the tiebreaker over you. Thats the exact same situation with Tulane owning the tiebreaker over Memphis by beating them. So if Memphis plays us instead of Tulane than its the opposite situation.

You assume correct.

I'm also hearing he has damage to ligaments/tendons that will require additional surgery at a later date.

With OSU beating Michigan, will UCF overtake the wolverines?
LSU's loss was big for the Knights.

Assuming Milton would have been drafted in the 5th or 6th round, he was do something like a 200k - 400k signing bonus and a contract in the 2M - 3M range, where he would have been fairly likely to have earned at least 1M in the NFL.

Now he simply hopes he will be able to walk.

There needs to be some sort of insurance in the NCAAs for this outcome.
One tackle and Milton loses a million dollars Plus. Sad.

UCF will poll at 7 or 8 this week (depending on Michigan)
(one cannot doubt that the Buckeyes will overtake the Knights)

Looking forward:
Alabama / Georgia. The Knights really need a Bama win here. Otherwise there is probably no path for UCF to the playoffs.
Clemson / Pitt. A Pitt win jumbles this field. I think Clemson has a playoff slot over the Knights even with a loss though.
Notre Dame is in the playoffs.
Oklahoma / Texas. There is no path for UCF without a Texas win. We must all be Longhorns for this game.
OSU / Northwestern. A OSU loss is huge for UCF; Northwestern sports a loss to Akron. So ... I am not hopeful.

So:

UCF needs.
1) Georgia to lose
2) Oklahoma to lose
3) Some combination of an OSU loss and/or a Clemson loss
[ 4) Two-loss Michigan to not overtake UCF ]

If all four teams take a loss, I would think UCF has a better than half chance to make the playoffs.

The Washington St. and LSU losses were real keys.
