Seriously guys, what is going on? We seem to require a thread like this at least once a year but the ad pop ups and browser failure rates right now are worse than ever.

I'm just running an adblocker on my phone and zero ads on Safari at least. Ads here really get out of hand, I don't mind supporting by clicking an ad or two, but it's way overboard without a blocker.

welcome to using a free product. Money has to be made somewhere. Just be glad they havent instituted the controls that shut down the page if an ad-blocker is sensed.

I use Ghostery and it is pretty good with stopping most ads.

I get zero spam or adware. But, I logged in at work computer only one time and the amount of pop-ups killed me for that 15 minutes of browsing and I swear I got a virus or adware inadvertently installed onto that computer.

The trick for me is I use only Firefox for RealGM. Then, I installed Bluhell (its free) ad blocker for Firefox. Then, I go to about:config in Firefox and disable Flash. Boom. No more pop-ups, browser failures and decently fast browsing thru RealGM.
