This game and several others this year have unfortunately reinforced the idea that the Magic are not a particularly tough basketball team and really struggled with physical play.
Cupcake team like every year. Same crap in December. They lose a couple of tough ones and they snowball it. Bunch of softminded losers. Saw a bunch selfish, who cares I'm getting mine play.

Jonathon Simmons and our guards are major issues. Not really sure how that will get addressed this season.

If the Magic aren't willing to take on 2019-2020 salary (which they probably shouldn't be too willing to do given how much cap space they can have) then I don't know how easily they can upgrade Grant/Simmons/Fournier in the short-term.

His defense is terrible.
He gets blocks due 15 feet wingspan, but he is out of position all the time.
Quinn scored couple of layups without him even trying to contest, but when he sees 6'0 guard going at rim he turns into old man Camby ,leaving his man and chasing block ( despite most of the time that block turns into uncotested dunk from C that he left to chase block)
He's doing fine.

Worst defensive rating among Magic players is interesting way to describe fine.
I think he's getting better, unfortunately he seems to have to guard 2 or 3 players at a time on that second unit.

It's only been 26 games in a reserve role, he hasn't really had the time to gel with his team yet.

Not the whole team. Just the vast majority.
True, Aaron looked pretty good, the rest sucked.

Yep, AG, but I'd add JI to that as well.

I agree. Given their value, we are going to get equal or worse value than what we already have. I am sure we are not trying to add any more long term salary to this team. If playoffs are indeed the goal here, that position has to be addressed somehow.

Idk if I've ever seen someone jump from one end of the spectrum to the other as fast as you do lol. One day you like what you're seeing from everyone and what the coach is doing and then the next day everyone on the team are the worst soft-minded losers you've ever seen.

I actually find it humorous, but I feel like being more level-headed might benefit you. They aren't as bad as we saw tonight and they aren't as good as we've seen other nights. They will finish somewhere in the middle and most likely win 35-40 games this year.

I'm back to being uninterested in this team. They just don't fight hard enough on most nights for me to care about them. They don't deserve our time or money.

This was typical old Magic game that gets to the nervs of most people.
Vučević rolled ankle and still was , at worst, second best Magic player on the floor for us. Only him and Gordon at least tried. Others? I have no clue what half of them doing in nba.

As usual nobody drew any fouls (4 FTA among starters), starting PG had 5 points and 2 assists.
Simmons is 5-21 in last 5 games from the floor. That's another "starter".
Averaging 20 mpg , Grant menaged to score i double digit ONCE this year. ONCE.

IND is filled with all of these less-heralded, less popular NBA players.. one or two here who are two years too old to be part of a 5 year roster plan, one or two prime veterans with small market popularity.. and then when you look at them closely, the roster is filled with great pieces up and down the roster. And I like how they all play their own games, they don't need a 8 assist PG setting them up, and that even seems to fit very well with Oladipo, imo.
I think ORL was out of gas on this one too. There was nothing in the tank tonight.

Cliff said the only people who were trying hard on defense this game were Evan Fournier & Jonathon Simmons

Isaac and Gordon were the only ones even showing a pulse on that end imo.

Poor performance, seems like some players believed they can give poor effort and we'll still win because Indy was missing their two best players, but we are not good enough to win while coasting.

Also the team remains too reliant on Vucevic because of the lack of playmaking and reliable scoring outside of him.

The problem is guard play - Cliff might say Fournier played okay defensively but offensively he’s been terrible and as for Simmons and Grant, you’ve got to think Briscoe will be given another run at some point.

I watched quite a bit of the Hornets-Nuggets game and Walker and Parker just burned the Nuggets with solid guard play. As we’re competing with them for a playoff spot, it makes you wonder whether Weltman will address the issue to keep this team in contention for a playoff spot or be happy to see it fall away because, easier schedule or not, I don’t see the Magic remaining in contention with the current guard rotation.
