Hey so I'm embarking on a litte project to compile fanbase approval ratings for the rookies your team drafted (or traded for on Draft night). Very simple poll like a Presidential approval. Use whatever subjective or objective criteria you feel is necessary to decide.

Too early. Not enough playing time.
I will tell you that if Orlando resigns Vucevic for anything longer than 2 years that it was the wrong pick.

I voted disapprove. The C position is trending to becoming a position that requires shooting, shot blocking, agility, strength, instincts, and play making. Bamba has 2 of those, projects to only have 3 max. At the same time, we have Isaac who could have all 5 and the Bamba pick forces Isaac to be a forward (even if he were to end up as one anyway, I still think its the wrong pick because a player more talented than Bamba will likely be available soon). I also just don't believe in Bamba's agility and instincts to ever control a game.
I really wanted SGA with the pick. He has decent instincts and skill. His size, footwork, instincts, and progress in his one year of college really sold me.

Too early.
Some super encouraging signs. Some really alarming red flags.

It's way too soon and I'm still unsure whether he truly wants to be one of the best or if it's just going to "skate his way through the NBA".

I'm beginning to wonder if he's not happy being drafted by Orlando. Opening night he came out with so much intensity, and a few other games like against NY. Most other games he looks disinterested for some reason. Maybe he needs to play for his hometown NY before he starts to give a damn?

That would be pretty sad. He seems mature though, says all the right things with the media about his situation.

NY was surely a better situation for him. They play Robinson a lot.
At the beggining of the season Mo seemed different. Now its like he has given up as it looks like Vooch isnt going anywhere???

Can he get half of a season in before we jump to the completely unsubstantiated, likely incorrect, wildly unrealistic claims as to why he isn’t playing like a HoFer?
He’s a rookie with a body that needs to be developed while playing at Center. He’s had good games and bad games so far. *Coincidentally* he had good games against awful teams with bad bigs... must be because he hates playing for Orlando, right?

I'd say the more likely scenario is he's tired/exhausted. Most rookies get worn out mentally trying to cope with all the travel and games and then adjusting to the speed. He's likely just trying to take it all in still, especially for him when he clearly gets gassed fast when he is putting in effort.

Rook's gonna be alright. Not sure what to expect in short term, but he has potential to be a game changer in his second contract with us.

Remember when posters started dogging on Isaac on draft night because of his New York comments?

Too early to rate him, if we'd taken him over someone like doncic or something i'd be fine disproving but at this point he still is just a good prospect. Outside Ayton and Doncic i wasn't super high on anyone in this draft class so I was fine taking him then and am fine with developing him now.

I've come around a lot on Isaac, but I still think that was weird.
Q: Jonathan, you were born not far from here in the Bronx but you grew up in Naples you played at Florida State, what does it mean to you to be drafted by a Florida team?
A: It means everything. I mean maybe I would've loved to be drafted by a New York team so I could come home, but it is kind of home to me I've been in Florida 9 years, it feels great.
I dunno, probably just a lapse of judgment (sense they get coached on these interviews extensively before the draft) but I thought it was really odd that night.

Approve of Bamba. Disapprove on how the team is using him and how the team is capable of using him.

im about 50/50 on this. I agree that i approve of the pick, and I disapprove of how he is being used and that he could get a bit more playing time. But he HAS to fix his motor and get his hands up on D. he could block/alter a lot of shots just by having them up and not even jumping for a block. so part of it is on him too.

It's tough for young players in Orlando to get touches. Last night I saw Bamba pop out several times but they refused to pass him the ball. Right now Bamba's true shooting percentage is higher than Vucevic has ever posted prior to this year, yet his usage is lower than any year. I guess it would help to have a PG on the second unit.
