Can JI guard Durant?

He may be unguardable as witnessed by Durant shooting over Anthony Davis.

But I cant help but wonder, could Mr. Issac give Durant problems? He has the length and I do think he is a better perimeter defender and a higher IQ defender than Anthony Davis (who I love of course). I want to see Isaac match up with Durant, can he slow him down? Can he force Durant into an inefficient shooting game? Less than 40% FG ??

Nobody guards Durant, that shouldn't be measuring stick. Can Isaac guard best offensive wing/PF on nightly basis and hold his opponents 5+ percentage points lower than their average FG%? That would mean he belongs to elite echelon of defenders in NBA.

No, don't really think anyone can. Giannis probably has the best chance. AG was doing good on him in the last game but realistically KD was just missing open jumpers. Then when AG got injured and Isaac guarded him they started going in a little more.

I don't think anyone can guard Durant, maybe take him out of his comfort zone and hold him to under 30ppg.

Issac deserves all defense team considerations, but until he can become a consistent scorer no one will take notice of him.

Of course he can guard him and do it well. But nobody can shut down players like Durant by himself, especially under the current rules.

JI though has the potential to be an elite defender.
