I'm going to say no because DSJ doesn't excite me and I think we'd probably get taken to the cleaners in the trade. But I don't really care too much. We're in such a dire position right now that it doesn't really matter too much what we do. I think I'd probably rather us go after Morant in the draft anyway.

True but Luka isn't on this team so it wouldn't matter. Just points to my AG is a system player claim.

I could see why people would say no, but any move at this point to acquire a legitimate starting point guard is a good move for this team.

Even if Orlando acquired DSJr, they would still be looking for help on the perimeter with the lack of depth and talent available. Also, it gives Orlando the opportunity to draft Langford, Porter, Hachimura, Reddish, etc. without frantically worrying about a primary ball handler or missing out on Morant (per usual).

I don’t trust WeHam’s drafting ability, so making anything easier for them, with a guard already on the roster, should alleviate whatever terrible choice (or lack thereof) they decide to make.

AG + Simmons + (OKC pick if needed) for DSJ + Barnes. Get it done. It’s time for Isaac to be the starting PF like he was always meant to be.

I would not because I know what it would require we give up. I still believe in AG. We just need to pair him with a good point guard.

There is no way WeHam moves JI hes their guy. Theres also nobody else on this roster the Mavs would accept other than AG. The move balances out both rosters perfectly.

I have this feeling that if we trade AG, it will be like the Oladipo or Tobias move.

If the trade is Vuc and Ross for DSJ and Barnes then Id have to consider that. We take on a lot of salary for Barnes so that's gives me pause but we are not attracting free agents anyway right now. I think Id do that deal. From Dallas perspective it clears salary and gives them a chance to go after some free agents all while still staying competitive this year. Its not a bad deal for both sides. Im thinking they would prefer AG though.

I have yet to see anything from Isaac other than a solid defensive role player who can hit a shot here/there. Yeah he's young and was injured his rookie year but he doesn't look comfortable having to play the 3 and jack up shots. Yeah it's early but we cannot continue to force round pegs into square holes like the last FO did as we all know how that works out.

A DSJ/Matthews for Vuc/Isaac is about making a path/vision for Orlando come 2019. We won't have to reach for a PG in the draft (not that they'd take one) and we would likely still stay competitive for the rest of the year as Matthews can still be a solid bench player which we lack big time. Only issue I would see is we'd have to start Bamba/Birch or let Moz go for 10-13 minutes a night. At this point I really wouldn't mind playing Bamba and Birch and let them get solid minutes/try to carve out a role and build game to game.

I'm not a fan of tanking...BUT making a trade with the future in mind, that we know will likely hurt in the short term, is great with me. The whole idea of hanging on to Vuc for "a couple of years until Bamba is ready" sounds dicey to me. Vuc will (and deserves to) get paid this summer and he's our FA expiring...Let's move forward with Bamba OR Vuc. I like this trade for Barnes and DSJ. I'd be interested to see Bamba fight through the lessons and I'd also like to see Isaac play a little at small-ball center while we figure it out. Could probably pick up a Robin Lopez for cheap, if Bamba really needed to stay in the incubator. Barnes can score and DSJ might blow up. I'd rather have DSJ than DLo, Rozier, or Dinwiddie.

Giving up a top pick for 2 expiring rentals even if it means getting Barnes off the cap probably wouldn't get it done. Would be interesting to see if they would move that deal +OKC pick we'd give up.

It depends on the cost. Is Dallas on a win or bust thing this season? Doubtful they take expiring contracts if not, unless they think they'd be better with the person's bird rights in future contract negotiations. (referring to ross and vuc)

Yea who knows, I believe Woj said something about plenty of teams wanting Vuc so magic could get a nice return, but I can see teams trying to low ball the Magic too.

I don’t like Mathews only cause that would give us yet another average to above average SG’s and I don’t like Fournier, Ross, or Mathews at Small Forward.

For the record, I’d like to send AG and Jsimms for DSjr and Barnes. Barnes will fit better as a SF next to Isaac (40% from 3 this year) imo and he expires with Moz and DJ giving us 47 mill in cap space.

2 million dollar raise for Ross and 5 million raise for Vuc and still have 40 million to spend on a replacement SF scorer or resign Barnes if he takes a huge jump (not likely but he is only 26)
