Wanted to ask everyone a question...

How many of you feel drafting Tacko Fall would be a wise move?

He's a beast monster, a mammoth shot blocker and disrupter. Word is he's 7'7" now. When he was in the UCF March Madness Tournament the whole flow of the game shifted in UCF's favor. He made some stupid reach-in fouls that proved costly to UCF, but
I felt UCF could have advanced if he didn't get in foul trouble.

So, if we resign Vucevic and Fultz comes around, why not draft Fall and package Bamba?

I just feel it would be a shame if Orlando passed on him. We could get him with our late first round pick, before other teams
grab him. I'm only proposing this makes sense if Orlando keeps Vucevic.

Thoughts?

I'd be shocked if he is drafted at all. No chance should Orlando take him with a first round pick. If they want to take a waiver on him with their second 2nd, then I'd be fine with it. But, I doubt he sticks in the NBA and think we could likely let him go undrafted and add him to the D League team.

If he is not drafted, I could see him in the Magic summer league. But his body is not ready for the NBA. He needs to go to the G-league for a couple years.

But mark my words: barring injury, Fall will log NBA minutes at some point. Depending on the maths, between 3% and 17% of all true-7-footers will play in the NBA.

Fall is at another level. One cannot teach height, and he will be an interesting defensive player over time.

So, to answer the question, I think Fall to Lakeland is fine.

I went to several UCF games this year and when he was on the court the tempo of the game changed completely in favor of
UCF...BIG time. He just needs to stop his reach-in fouls. During one game, he swatted a ball that went almost to the upper deck of the arena. I am not kidding. The team orthopedic surgeon told me he could grow to 7'8".

So let's ask another question, how about Bol Bol with our 1st? Discuss.

He’s not getting drafted. I’m sure we will bring him to our SL squad and to training camp. Maybe he ends up in Lakeland?

as a fan of UCF and of Tacko, he'd be a terrible draft selection. His game is just not suited for the NBA right now. 20 years ago he'd be a beast. But the NBA right now is about speed and outside shooting. He'll do much better internationally.

I doubt he gets drafted. If he does he'll be on SL teams and play overseas anyway. Unless the game shifts to being more inside focused again he's just not a good fit.

I see him as a late 2nd Round pick. His play at the NCAA tournament put him on the map enough I think. I think he and Aubrey Dawkins both get picked up late. I’m not sure Tacko fits for the Magic but I could see them taking him and sending him to Lakeland. I could see the Magic taking a look at Dawkins too.

I can see Magic taking a flier on Dawkins with their 2nd rounder then perhaps inviting to Fall on Summer league.

I’d give him a token summer league invite and nothing more.

I cannot see Fall approaching anything like Marjanović's production levels. Fall is to thin and cannot shoot. To be fair, Fall's game is most suited to the Chinese League.

Yes he never willl reach boban level. Exactly why he Isnt nba material. He will get drafted solely for his physical attributes

Bamba has wingspan greater or similar to the giants, but he's way more mobile and athletic and already proved he can rebound decently and block shots. We already have our future C.
