I'm sure we are interested in Kevin Durant too. Doesn't matter unless the feeling is mutual.

Would prefer spending or money on him instead of Vuc and Ross though.

Can't say a Kemba and Cliff reunion excites me all that much. Unless we somehow manage to keep Vuc, too, I can't imagine Kemba considering us a dramatically more competitive roster than what Charlotte has, either.

My money says he ends up in LA, NY, DAL in that order.

I cannot see Walker in Orlando. He will cost to much and is redundant. The Magic need wing upgrade more than anything else, right now in my opinion.

If The Magic want to sign Kemba Walker, they will have to let Vucevic and Ross go.

I think he will bolt to NY or LAL if he decides not to take the Supermax in Charlotte.

Would be shocked if Kemba wanted to come here.

well, a Magic team without Kemba was slightly better than Charlotte. A team with Kemba would be better. how much better and how much behind the top teams in the East is the question. I dont think we could Vuc and have money for Kemba though, unless he gave a big discount for us which i dont see happening.

The only way I see it possible is a sign and trade.

Having two different scenarios where the team has $50+ million dollars on the cap for one single basketball position is scary.

Clippers, Lakers, Knicks, Nets, or even staying with Charlotte and collecting on the Super Max all seem like more appealing situations for Walker. But, if Weltman and Hammond can open up enough cap space without gutting our roster, and Walker wants to join, by all means count me in. I just don't see how we get to opening enough cap space without losing some major assets or Walker wanting to play in Orlando considering his other options.

If the Magic manage to open that much cap space, I'd focus attention on D'Angelo Russell, who better fits our timeline, and offer him the max. I wouldn't even mind if the Magic struck out and the Nets match, but I'd like to see the Magic be aggressive about changing their roster and upgrading their backcourt.

Does that mean we let Vuc go?

btw Walker can sign with us with a S&T. We can still retain Vuc and Ross.
I hope the Steve Clifford connection works

I'm not really sure why Walker would sign in Orlando without Vucevic, and unless a S&T occurs, it seems like we'd have to let Vucevic walk to sign Walker. And unless one of these young players takes a leap, a Kemba-led Magic team without Vucevic doesn't have much upside in the short or long term. At least with Vucevic, you could convince yourself into a 50 win roster with the hopes of a 2nd round exit (I know this doesn't inspire a chunk of the posters, but I still believe there's inherent value in winning and playing in meaningful games while building for the future).

I'm fine with letting Vucevic walk to land someone like D'Angelo Russell, who is 23, and can potentially continue to grow with a core of players in their early 20's.

There is no way we land DAngelo Russell. BKN landing Kevin Durant is an extremely long shot. Neither would Kyrie sign there.

My biggest hope is during any scenario, we resign Vuc and Ross, while gaining the key "All-Star" (Conley, Kemba, Russell).

I know it is a long shot. But that way, we can be better than this past season and go far in the Playoff. And possibly beat Toronto.

I think Kyrie going to Brooklyn isn't that long of a shot. I think him returning to Boston is a long shot at this point. Russell at least somewhat has ties to the Orlando area from high school, and we wouldn't have to do that much to open up the salary. Stretching Mozgov and renouncing one of the 2 big cap holds gets us pretty close.

Renouncing who?

Vuc would be easier, but I was talking about Vuc or Ross.

Renouncing the largest cap hold and stretching mozgov would still only leave us with like 12m of cap space.
