Honestly surprised. We have a huge hole for backup OF, he projects to be really good, I'll trust it.

Guess this means we expect TRoss to be back, and Fournier to stick around. I'm fine with it, need to watch more of him

As a prospect, he's good. Health and fit are questionable.

Tore his ACL in the tourny... we need a backup PF, but he might not play next season if the magic decide to play it cautiously. At least we picked someone who can shoot for once.

Welcome. He looks like a tough confident player. Hopefully he stays aggressive in the NBA.

Horrible pick. Nothing about it makes sense.

A 'very successful' shooting PF picked in the teens by the Orlando Magic... the_hobo should be happy

Just the fact we have to wait to see him play is really the only thing that bums me out.

He's not out the whole NBA season. His recovery timetable is 6 to 9 months, considering his age is 20 years and technology/medicine is continuing to get better and NBA regular season doesn't end until April. There's no way he's out the whole season. He suffered the injury in March that's the 3rd month of the year and say his recovery does take the full 9 months, Chuma Okeke will be back on the court in NBA regular season EITHER December or January but probably January. Again Okeke is exactly 20 years old so he is still very young. Okeke is not really a high flyer above the rim so he might not lose any quickness/ athletic for now.

Why did the Magic take him? It's apparently because they are factoring in him projected as a top 10 pick if he didn't get injured. So I'm thinking that's why the Magic had Okeke #1 on their board at the 16th pick over anybody we liked at 16( Naw, Little, etc)

I'm guessing also the Magic are confident about Markelle Fultz this upcoming year ready as the starting PG for game 1 of the regular season playing 30 minutes+ per game.

I did watch the NCAA tournament and I was aware of Okeke watching Auburn's games but I had no idea he was going in the 1st round.

If we had a need for a good power forward and he didn't have the health concerns, I would have liked it, not loved it, but liked it.

That being said, welcome to Orlando, Chuma! (assuming you're not traded)

I was disappointed when Tyler Herro and Romeo Langford were off the board.

However, after KZ Okpala, he was one of 4 others Cameron Johnson, Keldon Johnson, Chuma Okeke and Matisse Thybulle that I had on my board.

I thought he'd go lower but if you can't get much for moving down, it's best to take the guy you want.

This kid busted my bracket a few months ago and would like everyone to watch some game film of him before making a judgment.

He probably sits out a year but this is also a futures game and I think he is going to be a winner and add to the new culture around here.

Are we allergic to rookie guards? Hate the fit, but don't know enough about him as a player to really judge him as a talent. I still believe both Gordon and Isaac will be best at PF long term so it was the last position I wanted us to draft. I guess I'll have to hope one of them will prove me wrong and become a great SF and Okeke turns into a good backup PF.

wow!, this guy is really good guys. He is a star in the making, dude just got injured with his ACL tore, but thats fine because he can come back from that. Man, let me put it this way, this guy might be the best player all around already in a Magic Jersey unless Fultz gets his game back. What a time to be a Magic Fan. Look AG is great player, better defender than his offensive skills, Isaac another project player on offense but fantastic defender. This guy OKEKE can do it all. Watch his highlights.
