Same thing they said last year too, when they held out Bamba and Isaac after the third game. The Magic need better PR to come up with something better that doesn't reflect poorly on the players. General soreness makes it sound like they have no toughness

So after being out for injury for months, Bamba lasted 15 min in summer league before they shut him down?

35 points. He's on another level to most of the talent in SL.

I wanted him last year, too.

I didn't see the game, but Jefferies numbers have looked legit all league. Does he look like the real thing?

No, just more experienced and smarter than the bums he's playing against.

The guy has pretty high advanced stats metrics to boot., so his reflexes isnt that bad, not to mention high bpg and spg which means he has good court awareness too. We'll see.. Sucks we don't see him play yet though.

problem is, if we see a lot of him, that means he has pushed either Isaac or AG to the bench, hurting their perceived value.
Or....he's playing a lot because of our blowout wins.

I’d give him 3rd guard spot over MCW, who hasn’t signed his deal yet.... pure speculation they’re looking at Jeffries and Rodas over MCW.
A scoring guard.. never heard of one.

Thanks mate! He looks reliable to me. Nothing flashy, but hits his shots, makes his passes and works for smart shots.

I think he ends up with Lakeland at the very least.

The Magic are 100% not doing this.

Carter-Williams’ roster spot is absolutely secure. Teams do not back out of verbal agreements unless the player specifically asks them to.

Players will sometimes break a verbal agreement (see Marcus Morris) but teams never do it.

The Magic and MCW verbally agreed. He’s on the team.

As far as Jeffries goes, he’s got a chance at being the 15th man. He could slot in as the third stringer at SG/SF.

Simons is balling. So sad we didn't trade up for him. Oh well. I will be cheering for him. Dude went to Edgewater which blows my mind.

We still have a roster spot after MCW

Jeffries and Jefferson: that Orlando does not have a LLE-level of cap space, I cannot see either being a 15th man. I expect both to be Orlando's two 2-way players.

Depending on how they structure the Birch deal, I *think* the Magic could be able to straight up sign Jeffries to the minimum as the 15th man.

Marks said they were about 675K below the tax, but I think that was based on Birch getting a flat 3M.

If it’s structured like 2.75M/3.25M, that would give the Magic about 900K of wiggle room, which could fit a minimum.

When do we have until, to pick up Fultz 20-21 team option?
It's 12M.
His 19-20 was option was picked up in Oct 2018, so I figure it's around then?
Glad it's then, so the team should know his physical state at that time.

Yeah sometime around Halloween I think. Gives a couple weeks to evaluate.

I started the other thread about Evan's option year, if Fultz doesn't work out and don't pick that up, and Evan opts out.
That is about $30M in salary off the books.

vs NBA players he didn't look all that hot last season...didn't even stand out in G-League...had opportunity to carve out a small role with Blazers but couldn't even take minutes from Nik Stauskas...eventually Portland brought in Hood.

He's gonna have trouble finding minutes on the wing this year with CJ/Hood/Bazemore/Naz Little/ Mario all looking for time there.

He's really young so maybe he shows more this season. He can score easily and is smooth so has good foundation.
