Thanks for creating this thread OrlandO. Hopefully we can put an official tag to this title soon and then discuss how the yearly dollars are broken down for Vucevic and the Magic.

Aaron Gordon 4 years $80M "team friendly"
Vučević 4 years ( allegedly ) $90M " franchise killer"

nice way how to spin epic salary that is , in reality $2,5M per year different

Don't be dense on purpose pepe.. come on. AG's deal is "team friendly" because it's front loaded and he got it at the age of 22-23. Many actually said we overpaid for what he was producing when he got it, but at the end of the deal, I think it will be a fair deal.

Vuc's deal isn't a franchise killer. The money is not the issue, if anything it would be the years and the fact that we were all but about to move on from him until his breakout year this year. Makes things a bit awkward for the roster. Still, say Bamba does really impress the next few years, it's not like Vuc's contract is untradable if he takes this one. Just in terms of if he's able to repeat the performance, him being 6 years older when he gets a 4 year deal, and us having a bunch of big men makes it more of a talking point.. make no mistake though, not everybody was pleased with the AG deal either.

Vuc was untradeable making nothing. What makes you think he magically becomes tradeable at almost double the amount a year? What in the world are you guys smoking?

He was making 12m per year... he was only untradeable in the eyes of his haters.

So nearly every non-Magic fan on here talking about players values and nearly every rumor out of the front offices that were leaked via reports? Yeah, only the haters.

Edit: I have stunning information that MagicMatic and TideRulez are actually throw away accounts of Woj and Shams.

lol what rumors said he was untradeable? Most of the rumors over the years were of teams interested in Vuc. Are you saying Vuc wasn't tradeable as a 12m expiring in his all-star year?

Oh, I am sure you could find teams to take him for bad contracts. I guess that does make him technically tradeable.

That seems about right.

If he gets offered more and wants to leave, more power to him. It wouldn't be in the team's best interests to go any higher.

However, between the state tax thing and him by all accounts being loyal to and happy in Orlando, I think another team would have to offer a significantly bigger contract. I think he ends up staying.

IMO, A franchise with our history of not respecting/retaining the Allstars that we have needs to shed that stigma. Retaining Vuc is a step in the right direction. Bamba is an unknown, and right now we have a known, and chemistry. You build off of that. The more Bamba learns from Vuc, the better we are in the long run. Vuc is the closest thing we have or will have to a star player for a while. Ride that pony until otherwise.

And in the eyes of... reality. If he were tradeable for any kind of decent return, it would have happened by now. Shifting him for bad contracts or expirings isn't what I would call tradeable. In that case, Biyombo was on a tradeable deal.

It's funny, for all the talk about other teams praising Vuc and having interest in him - how come none have ever shown up? None have put a fair trade offer on the table. Doesn't seem like they're ready to knock on his door for free agency.
