Does this mean no Jeffries or could we potentially use him still as a 2 way?

I know Amile is trash, but you can’t help to think that we’re gearing up for some type of midsession consolidation trade of some sort...

As much as I would like to see Okeke this year, I will admit that there's no real point in burning a year of his rookie contract if they're going to be hyper conservative with his rehab.

Stashing him in the G-League for a year isn't the worst idea if they're not going to ramp him up until like Feb/March.

I think that it's possible that the Magic *might* do a domestic stash with Okeke, but signing Jefferson to an Exhibit 10 or Two-Way deal certainly wouldn't be the catalyst to that.

If this is a full blown roster spot... then so be it.

As we are still a rebuilding team, I try to be more open minded than the average short sighted Magic fool here.

But giving a full roster spot to a player in a redundant role who doesn’t play his role well is an absolute mistake. Even if we really are stashing Okeke and planning a deal for AG, this would be a mistake.

If this is simply a 10 day -> 2-Way deal then who cares? Sure, why not?

So I will hold my judgement until details come.

If they are stashing Okeke, they have an open roster spot with the NBA club whether Jefferson is going to be on the NBA team or not.

If they signed Jefferson to the second two-way contract... they still have 1 or possibly 2 open roster spots with the NBA team depending on what happens with Okeke.

If they signed Jefferson to exhibit 10, then it's still status quo. 1-2 open spots on the NBA roster, 1 two-way spot open.

Jeffries makes more sense on a 2-way contract since he's significantly younger than Jefferson and needs the playing experience.

Is it possible to stash Okeke if he is not player from overseas? Never heard of something like this happening for an american 1st round pick.

Also, maybe it won't be viewed in a positive way between the NBA agents.

yes it is believe it has happened before too.

It's 100% possible if the player and team mutually agree to it.

The Thunder did it in 2014 with Josh Huestis.

What’s the incentive for a player to agree to that?

Jefferson is a G-league stud FWIW. He was leading scorer/rebounder and a major catalyst for our team making the Gleague finals. Stat line for the season was 18ppg/11.3rpg/3.8apg.
