Magic Exercise 2020-21 Option On Markelle Fultz

The Orlando Magic have exercised their third-year team option on center Mo Bamba and their fourth-year team options on guard Markelle Fultz and forward Jonathan Isaac. Per team policy, terms of the deal are not disclosed. Bamba, Fultz and Isaac are all now signed through the 2020-21 season.
Fultz is guaranteed to earn $12.3 million during the 20-21 season.

Good for Markelle. Hope he is able to play for us and be free of TOS related issues. Just adding him as depth would be huge, let alone if he plays well.

I am not surprised given how the only move The Magic have made at point guard this season is swapping out Troy Caupain for Josh Magette on a Two-Way Deal.
It is encouraging though and adds to the excitement as Training Camp approaches.

Hope he continues to work hard despite the early extension. I’m sure a looming 12.3 million can be used as a significant motivator. I likewise hope the FO has seen some real progress to push the button early on the extension and this isn’t just a take the pressure off move. Cautiously optimistic here.

I hope picking up the option before training camp and preseason means he no longer has a hitch in his free throws.

He always looks good before training camp and preseason. Once the season starts is where the problems arise.

, i mean getting him extension for 2020-21 is no brainer especially with current cap situation that does not allow Magic to do anything regardless.
Hope he can figure things out, whatever that things are.

Our cap situation is why I don’t care at all. This is the team we’re locked into and have to hope Fultz figures it out. If he does, we become a contender in a few years. If he doesn’t, it’s not his fault if we don’t progress as management has locked us into this core anyway. Fultz is our lotto ticket. If we win, great. If we lose, it only cost us a dollar (in the grand scheme of things).

I gave two theories:
1. They feel good about his TOS/shoulder
2. They think he had the yips and are trying to make him more comfortable.
Either way, I'm good with this. It's a worthwhile risk. We've thrown away way more money on worse things

There is a video that I just saw from someone called the "shot Dr" thst said Markelle will be our day 1 starter and he looks like he did in college.

He's just a local radio host who earned his nickname giving bad golf tips. More of a comedian than sports analyst... he loves to make stuff up and troll people. He doesn't know anything.
