Jerian Grant has made 7.5 million dollars over the last four years… playing basketball. He'll be just fine in life living off the interest alone. If he's bored, he can get a regular paying job running camps at YMCAs, coaching high school, or working at a gym like the rest of us, except we aren't sitting on millions in our account.

While this sounds nice, what in the world of sports makes you think he has saved his money these past 4 years to be able to do that today?

With the exception of a few, most of these guys see the next payday as a given and spend crazy money faster than it comes in.

Smart enough to fool 4 NBA teams into thinking he was a point guard... maybe smart enough to save his money knowing his scam wouldn't last?

I’m sure he’s a great kid but he’s a horrible professional basketball player.

Yeah like MCW’s length, rebounding, motor and defense, etc. I don’t disagree with anything you said. Just pointing out that MCW was out of the league when we signed him, and Jerian played so poorly, that a PG who can’t shoot made a huge difference in our playoff run.

The effective tax rate on the top 1% is less than 30%.

Even back in the 1950s when the tax rate on the top income earners was above 90%, the effective tax rate was well below 50%.

Don't forget DJ Augustin. He was one of the worst players in the NBA in 2016/17.

last i remember looking into this, the average player actually took home about half their reported salaries.
